Since Go-Go Town is an indie game, the developers are still cleaning around the edges to perfect what is already here. If you are looking for what to do next in the game or are trying to figure out how to get the ball rolling, these tips should help.

11 Sell Gem Rocks First

At the beginning of the game, you will only be able to craft and place two shops: the Craft Corner and the Eat N' Go. After placing these shops, you will be dilly-dallying around until you earn enough money and EGO Tech points to continue upgrading your town.

To maximize the amount of money you earn at the beginning of the game, make sure to sell Geodes at the Craft Corner. Pet Rocks and Wood Trinkets only sell for ten coins each. Geodes sell for 12 coins and therefore will be the most valuable merchandise at that time.

Geodes require Metal Ingots to craft. To get Metal Ingots, you will have to take the mining Drill into the mines and head to the right side of the cave to find metal ore deposits.

10 Water Tiles Are Unlocked Later In The Game

You may notice that there are loot boxes just out of reach around your town. You can terraform to reach these items by opening build mode and placing down just about any pathing to connect to that piece of land.

What you want to be careful of is any water you are removing early in the game. Players do not have access to water tiles early on, so any pathing you place over water tiles cannot be undone until you unlock water tiles.

Water Tiles are unlocked by purchasing Expanded Fishing Tier 5 through EGO Tech.

9 Work Towards Unlocking TownCo Exports

If you are the type of gamer that plays these games to decorate and use themes to make your town unique, then you need to unlock TownCo Exports! TownCo Exports is a facility that only the player can use. It allows you to complete tasks to earn tickets. These tickets can then be redeemed to purchase decorations and objects for your town.

You can get more fences, lamp posts, and more by buying the next tier Town Decorations at EGO Tech. Unlocking decorations via EGO Tech is limited, as they only give you a certain amount until you reach the next tier again.

TownCo Exports allows you to earn as many tickets as you want in order to purchase as many lamp posts (as an example) as you want.

While scrolling through TownCo Exports list, you will also find decoration pieces and even vehicles that you haven't seen before. There are Gothic-themed decorations and more.

  • TownCo Exports is unlocked in Tier 3 of EGO Tech, the upgrade is called Import and Export.

8 Weather Changes Reap Rewards

Certain changes in weather actually produce loot. When there is a windy day during Spring or Autumn, leaves fall from the sky. Leaf piles get scattered all around your town. When you clear out leaf piles, there are RNG drops for seasonal decorations. These decorations are usually Spring or Autumn colored trees and foliage.

One windy day can reward you with over ten orange Autumn trees.

After a rainy day, there is a chance that there will be a golden hour. This is when the sun is shining brightly. You will see sunbeams and hear an aura-like sound. When this weather happens, coins rain from the sky!

The coins are on a timer, so you will have to spend the day running around town collecting them all as they fall.

7 Unlock More Crops By Seed Bushes And EGO Tech

The only way to unlock different crops is to continuously forage the Seed Bushes in the Farming Zone, or by upgrading the Farming Zone through EGO Tech. At the beginning of the game, make sure to check back on the Seed Bushes and continuously forage them to get access to all early-game crops seeds.

Foraging the Seed Bushes once won't give you all possible seeds. That's why you should do it often until you can unlock the next tier Farming upgrade with EGO Tech. EGO Tech upgrades will unlock more unique crops, automatically giving you seeds.

6 Bring Your Tools With You

Tools meant for a specific zone can only be placed in that zone. For example, the mining Drill can only be placed in the Mining Zone. This does not mean that you cannot bring the Drill elsewhere once it is placed.

You can bring these tools with you anywhere. The Fishing Rod can be brought into the Deep Forest. You may have noticed weird planks floating in the rivers in the forest. You can fish these Junk Spots.

Fishing in the Deep Forest rewards you with RNGforest decorations. These range from mushroom stools, log benches, and more adorable items. Make sure to explore Go-Go Town with your items. There are not as many limitations as it may seem!

5 NPCs Need A House Before A Job

NPCs will visit your town every day, so long as the train station is open for business. Multiple NPCs looking for a home will come by with a task for you. These NPCs do not need a house in order to be invited into your town. To invite an NPC, all you have to do is complete the task they ask of you, then they belong to your town!

The importance of housing in Go-Go Town is about jobs. NPCs cannot work unless they reside within a house. Invite as many people as you want, but if you need workers, make sure they have a house.

4 Player Cosmetics Are Unlocked At Random

Character Creation is accessible throughout the entirety of the game by the strange contraption, called the Change-o-tron, to the left of the train station. New cosmetics can be unlocked as you play the game, so you are not limited to the starter options of clothing and accessories.

There are loot boxes around town that unlock cosmetics upon foraging, but these boxes are limited. More cosmetics can be unlocked by performing different activities in the game.

  • Inviting certain characters to unlock cosmetics relating to that character.
  • There is a chance of unlocking cosmetics by repetition of tasks. For instance, you can unlock the Log Backpack by chance when cutting down trees.

3 Storage Is Your Best Friend

When you are still getting the hang of being the mayor, it's fun to do every task by hand. After a while, you will need tons of storage for you and your employees to keep up with. The Farming Zone specifically seems to produce more product than the workers and storage containers can handle.

Different zones will require more storage than others. It is also important to keep storage crates around for your workers. If in their working zone, they will utilize the storage to either store goods or to take from.

It is also wise to have some storage crates full of materials needed to craft. That way, you will be able to complete buildings and crafting jobs with more efficiency.

Unlocking storage crates is tricky, since EGO Tech upgrades only give you a small amount of crates per upgrade. That is why TownCo Exports is so important. With TownCo Exports, you can purchase as many storage crates as you need.

2 Don't Hire Too Many People Too Fast

If you want to feel like you're still doing something and not just decorating, try not to build too many facilities that require workers to do your job for you. For instance, the Courier Delivery system can make you feel like you have nothing to do because an NPC is working hard at your job.

This depends on whether you are the type of gamer who prefers to decorate aimlessly or the type of gamer who wants to manage everything and stay busy. The more you upgrade, the more you will find yourself busy again. It's all about balance.
