The Gex Trilogy's Collector's Edition Comes With A Three-Foot Gex

Summary
- The Gex remastered trilogy finally has a release date.
- Digital versions will be released across all major platforms on June 16, 2025.
- Physical editions will come later, including a collector's edition, but pre-orders begin on May 9, 2025.
It's been two years since we were promised a remastered version of the Gex trilogy, and now we finally know when it will be here. Even better, we don't have long to wait with the digital version of the remastered collection being given a June 16 release date.
Between Crash, Croc, Spyro, and even Bubsy getting the remaster treatment, it was only fair that Gex, a gecko synonymous with both 2D and 3D platforming during the latter half of the 1990s, get the same treatment. Limited Run revealed it would be helping to bring a polished version of the Gex trilogy to modern platforms during the summer of 2023, and now that day is almost upon us.

LRG knows that Gex is a "top-tier product" that deserves "top-tier treatment".
Posts 2Not only did Limited Run confirm a release date for the digital version of Gex's remastered trilogy, but it also revealed details about a physical edition. Three of them, actually, ranging from $39.99 to $199.99. The $200 edition of the Gex trilogy will, naturally, come with a lot of extras you're not going to get anywhere else, including a three-foot-tall version of the series' protagonist to stand alongside you while you play.
When It Comes To The Gex Trilogy, You've Got Options
One Of Those Options Costs $200 And Comes With A Big, Inflatable Gex
via Limited RunThe three-foot Gex is an inflatable version of the gecko and is one of two collectible Gexes you'll get if you opt for the $200 version of the upcoming trilogy. Also included with the collector's edition is a seven-inch Gex statue, exclusive trading cards, a physical soundtrack that features every song from all three games, and a box that makes the remastered trilogy look like a PS1 game, among other things.
If you don't fancy paying $200 to own a physical copy of the Gex trilogy, there will be two other far cheaper options when pre-orders open today (May 9, 2025). The aforementioned PS1 case is also included with the $74.99 classic edition, along with a Steelbook, a poster, and a shorter version of the soundtrack. If you just want the games, there's the $39.99 standard edition, which includes the games and nothing else.
Whether you pay $200 for the trilogy or pick it up digitally next month, the collection will include all three of the gecko's games from the latter half of the 1990s. From its two-dimensional beginnings in 1995, to his first 3D adventure Enter The Gecko, and then the final Gex game, Deep Cover Gecko, that launched in 1999.
Unlike other platformers from that era, Gex has never returned. No spin-offs or follow-ups like Crash and Spyro, not even a game that got canceled like Croc. Maybe if the remastered trilogy sells well enough, those with the power to do so will make a Gex 4. Let's just be happy we're getting remasters for now, though.
