Summary

  • Qiqi is a Standard Banner character, making her easily obtainable but not top-tier.
  • Qiqi excels as a healer but lacks other utility abilities compared to stronger characters.
  • Higher constellation Qiqi can revive allies, making her valuable in challenging content.

Qiqi may be known best as a meme in the Genshin Impact community, but that doesn't mean she's entirely a bad character. Hailing from Liyue, this undead girl ensures no party member suffers from the same fate she once did, blessing them with some of the highest and quickest healing in the game.

She may not be able to compete with later releases, but Qiqi still provides things that you may want on your account. Evaluating what she can do and where she lacks, here are some things to note before you deciding to pull for Qiqi.

7 Qiqi Is A Standard Character

She Isn't Limited

The first and most important thing to know regarding Qiqi is her status as a Standard Banner character. Genshin Impact's Standard Banner is filled with permanently available characters, unlike the time-limited ones that appear periodically. Furthermore, you can also lose your 50/50 and get a Standard Banner character instead while trying to pull for a time-limited one.

Genshin Impact lets you choose one free Standard Character every year.

This is why pulling for Standard characters isn't normally recommended, since you'll be able to get them even without specifically going for them. Standard Banner characters also tend to be weaker than their limited alternatives, so unless you really want Qiqi soon, saving your Primogems for another character might be a better idea.

6 Qiqi Is Purely A Healer

Lots Of Healing, Little Else

Genshin Impact characters can fill a variety of roles. Even when talking about purely defensive characters, there are healers, shielders, as well as those that give interruption and damage resistances. Most characters fill multiple roles at once, such as how Bennett can both heal and buff your characters.

Unfortunately, Qiqi is exclusively a healer and provides nothing else. She gives no buffs, doesn't have any resistance shred, nor can she apply enough Cryo to enable most teams. As for her healing, it does end up being some of the best in the game, but at the cost of not having anything else going for her.

5 Qiqi Can Use The Ocean-Hued Clam Set For Damage

Turn Your Healing Into DPS

For the longest time, healers in Genshin Impact suffered drastically from being a significant DPS loss from just being put on the team. This was because, since you only have four total party slots, having a healer meant losing out on another buffer or sub-DPS.

Fortunately, Hoyoverse brought somewhat of a change in the form of the Ocean-Hued Clam artifact set released in Inazuma. This records the healing done by a character and then deals damage equivalent to a portion of the healing done, up to around 25,000 physical damage. This lets healers still contribute to your team's DPS while also helping your HP stay up.

4 Qiqi Can Be Good In Hyperbloom

She Fills The Extra Spot Well

With the advent of Sumeru came Dendro, an element that shifted the Genshin Impact meta forever. Where Aggravate and Spread brought many Electro carries back into competitive positions, Hyperbloom instead let you create complete teams with just three characters, leaving the last slot free.

If you're using Qiqi with the Ocean-Hued Clam artifact set, Qiqi's Cryo reacting with Electro can create Superconduct to increase her OHC set's damage.

For this reason, an on-field healer such as Qiqi can be a perfectly viable choice in Hyperbloom teams. Since the majority of your team's DPS is tied to Hyperblooms, swapping a single character out for Qiqi won't result in the same DPS loss as in other teams, and the addition of a good healer will make your team play without worry about damage or death.

3 On-Field Qiqi Is Good With Furina

Her On-Field Healing Is Enough To Completely Stack Fanfare

Qiqi isn't exactly what you'd call a strong DPS, yet most of her healing comes from her being on the field. This makes it very difficult to find a team where Qiqi consistently performs well. Fortunately, Qiqi's on-field healing is more than enough to fully stack Furina's fanfare.

This makes Qiqi a splendid driver of sorts for Furina teams that include other strong off-field DPS characters such as Xiangling. These teams won't be performing as well as Genshin's strongest, but they can make for a fun way to clear content using Qiqi as an important part of the team.

2 Higher Constellation Qiqi Can Revive Dead Allies

Never Let Death Stop You

If you're playing Genshin Impact with friends and facing a strong boss, but right before you finally kill them, the boss one-shots your entire team, there's not much you can do except reset the fight. Similarly, if you're facing the Spiral Abyss and an important character dies, you have no way of reviving them except by starting from scratch.

Qiqi solves these very inconvenient and annoying situations with her last constellation by getting the ability to revive all fallen allies. Keep in mind that this is a sixth constellation, which means you'll need seven copies of Qiqi before you can become a necromancer, but it's certainly something you can do.

This has an extremely long cooldown. However, if you're playing her in the Spiral Abyss, the cooldown resets on each chamber.

1 Qiqi Makes Farming Easy In Liyue

She Can Help Find Regional Specialties

Each region in Genshin Impact has a character that shows the locations of its specialties. There's Klee for Mondstadt, Kinich for Natlan, Gorou for Inazuma, and Lyney for Fontaine. For the land of Liyue, this passive exists in the form of Qiqi's Utility Passive, Former Life Memories.
