Genshin Impact has a wide selection of characters that you can play, each of these with a unique playstyle and mechanic that makes them different from the rest. But when you pair them with other characters they create interesting synergies, and can even trigger powerful Elemental Reactions such as Overloaded, a strong blast that occurs when Pyro comes into contact with Electro.

Chevreuse is a four-star Polearm user who wields a Pyro vision and is the first playable character who focuses exclusively on the Overloaded reaction. She's an exceptional support with the ability to reduce enemies' resistance to Pyro and Electro, as well as provide a massive ATK buff to your entire team.

Update on January 31, 2025, by Asad Kashif: With the release of strong Pyro characters like Mavuika, Chevreuse has found more use than ever due to her buffs being easier to trigger and requiring less setup time than many other options. We've gone back and dug deep into her kit's details to find out how you can make the most of the utility she provides to compile a complete and updated list of pro tips for Chevreuse.

9 Use Her Only With Pyro And Electro Characters

When there are only Pyro and Electro characters in your team, Chevreuse will grant the team the Coordinated Tactics effect. With this effect, triggering the Overloaded reaction on enemies will reduce their Pyro and Electro Resistance by 40 percent, the same amount of RES reduction granted by the Viridescent Venerer artifact set.

The RES reduction only lasts for six seconds, but refreshes every time an Overloaded reaction is triggered. To ensure it's always active, use characters who can apply Pyro or Electro off-field to consistently trigger Overloaded.

With Chevreuse, you’re able to reduce two Elemental Resistances at the same time by simply triggering Overloaded with any of your characters. The requirement does, however, restrict you when it comes to team building, but the trade-off is worth it.

8 Get Her To 40 Thousand HP

After getting Chevreuse to Level 60, you can unlock her Fourth Ascension Passive, “Vertical Force Coordination”. With this passive, after you trigger an Overloaded reaction, Chevreuse gains an Overcharged Ball that she can fire with her hold Skill, which will increase your Pyro and Electro characters’ ATK.

You can get one percent ATK for every one thousand HP that Chevreuse has, with the maximum amount being 40 percent ATK. To reach the maximum amount, you need to have 40 thousand HP on Chevreuse, so equipping her with a lot of HP on her artifacts should be your main priority.

7 Don't Use Her Elemental Burst

Chevreuse can do many things for your Electro and Pyro characters. She can heal them, grant them DMG Bonuses depending on their element, give your active character an ATK Bonus, and even lower enemy resistances.

Since her Elemental Burst isn't necessary, you can save it for certain conditions, such as when you need to apply Pyro to break an elemental shield or when you need immune frames to block an enemy attack.

Most of this is done by a combination of Chevreuses's Elemental Skill and Ascension Passives, with her Burst only dealing damage. Unfortunately, since you'd usually be building her as a support rather than stacking her up with offensive stats, her Elemental Burst's damage is negligible in most teams, and is better left unused to save time.

6 Get Chevreuse's C6 As Soon As Possible

Four-star characters are usually discounted versions of their five-star counterparts. However, they're balanced in a way where getting higher constellations of a specific character gets them closer to a C0 five-star. Chevreuse is one of the characters that benefits the most from her last constellation, despite her earlier ones not helping much at all.

The first part of Chevreuse's C6 increases her healing by a large portion of her HP. This, while helpful, is a bit anticlimactic. It's instead the second part of the constellation that takes her from great support to one that can compete with the likes of Kazuha by buffing your active character's Electro or Pyro DMG by 60 percent.

5 Use Her Hold Skill Only After You’ve Triggered Overloaded

One mistake that you might make with Chevreuse is using her Skill before her Burst, so she can catch the Energy particles. However, if you haven’t triggered Overloaded yet before using her Skill, you won’t get the ATK buff from her Overcharged Ball.

You'll know that you can trigger the ATK buff when you see a bullet icon next to Chevreuse's model that indicates that she possesses an Overcharged Ball. Firing the Overcharged Ball using her hold Skill will trigger the ATK buff, so only use it when you see this icon.

Make sure that you’ve already triggered Overloaded before using her hold skill, and one way to ensure this is to start the rotation by using an Electro attack, and then Chevreuse's Burst to obtain an Overcharged Ball, allowing her Hold Skill to grant the ATK buff.

4 Chevreuse Doesn't Need Any Special Weapon

Genshin Impact characters may not always use them in battle, but equipping them with the weapon that fits them best grants them stats to help their skills, as well as passives that synergize with them and their teams. Usually, finding the right weapon can be a chore where you have to compare lots of different stats and effects to figure out what works best.

Even without a weapon with HP on it, Chevreuse still provides enough buffs to your team to warrant running her. As such, even the default one-star polearms work fine with Chevreuse.

Chevreuse doesn't struggle much from this, since what makes her useful isn't tied to any weapon or stat. The only thing you want to aim for on Chevreuse is getting enough HP on her, and any weapon that grants her this stat, including the three-star Black Tassel, makes for a splendid choice.

3 Chevreuse's Passive Functions Without Ever Switching To Her

Managing your field time is an integral part of getting good at Genshin's combat system. While you may have more freedom with some teams, such as Hyperbloom, rotation times matter a lot more in others, such as a Mavuika team. After all, any second wasted is a hit to your overall DPS.

Usually, you have to switch to a character to reap their benefits, making it a question of whether the time they spend on-field is worth the buffs they provide. Fortunately for Chevreuse, most of her utility comes from her A4 Passive, something she doesn't need to take field time to do. This lets you skip swapping to Chevreuse and instead spend more time on a DPS.

2 Don't Waste Resources On Chevreuse

You can gear up your characters with the best artifacts and equip them with the strongest of weapons, but they won't be able to do much without their skills leveled up. Leveling these up doesn't come for cheap, though, and it may take every Mora in your pocket to get all of a character's skills to max level.

You can level up Chevreuse's skill for more healing, but this doesn't increase the potency of her buffs.

As such, it's important to know how much you need the levels of a skill. For Chevreuse, this ends up being no levels at all. Both her RES Shred passive and her ATK Bonus are tied to her Ascension Passives and don't increase based on your talent levels, so a Chevreuse with level one talents ends up being the same as one with three crowns.

1 Chevreuse Has A Variety Of Artifact Options

Chevreuse is the single easiest character to build in Genshin Impact. Since she doesn't deal much damage, there's no need for offensive stats like ATK or CRIT. Since her skills don't scale off of anything, this puts away Elemental Mastery and DEF as well. Even her Elemental Burst isn't necessary to her kit, taking away her Energy Recharge needs as well.

A combination of 2-piece 2-piece artifact sets that grant HP bonuses is best if you're not using an HP weapon or can't otherwise reach the 40k threshold needed for Chevreuse's full buff.

So long as you have enough HP on Chevreuse to enable her ATK passive, she can run any artifact set, even ones that don't synergize well with her. This makes her extremely flexible, being able to hold a plethora of supportive options, such as Noblesse Oblige.
