In a sea of amazing characters, Genshin Impact's Traveler is often overlooked when it comes to fitting them into certain team compositions. Whether you choose Lumine or Aether as your Genshin avatar at the start, once you unlock Inazuma, you will get access to what is arguably the Traveler's most useful kit.

Resonating the Traveler to Electro will change your elemental skill, burst and talents, gearing your Traveler towards being either a decent DPS or an excellent battery support unit. It's true that a lot of other characters can fill the role of battery better than your Traveler, but the Traveler does have the advantage of being fully free, which means no gacha luck required, and easy access to Constellations.

Battery Support Electro Traveler Build

  • Weapons - Sacrificial Sword, Skyward Blade
  • Artifact Sets - Emblem of Severed Fate or Noblesse Oblige

If you take a look at your Traveler's talents and skills, you'll notice that they are almost fully geared towards generating elemental particles for your team. The more particles generated, thefaster your team will charge up their Elemental Bursts, which can only be a good thing.

Energy Recharge is the most important stat for your Electro Traveler since their battery effectiveness scales from Energy Recharge. Furthermore, because the Traveler's Elemental Burst has a high energy cost, the best weapon for them will be a Sacrificial Sword or The Skyward Blade, since it has a bonus stat of Energy Recharge.

With this in mind, you'll want to capitalise on this innate strength and build them as an off-field battery support. Using their elemental skill and burst will provide a boost to energy recharge and particle generation. As a bonus, their Elemental Burst is excellent for dealing continuous off-field Electro damage, and it gradually restores energy to the current on-field character. This does mean that your Traveler isn't going to get much screen time on the battlefield, but you will want to swap to them to throw out an elemental skill and burst whenever it is available.

Artifact Set Bonus

Effect

Two-Piece

Increases your Energy Recharge by 20 percent.

Four-Piece

Increases your Burst DMG by 25 percent of your Energy Recharge.

The Emblem of Severed Fate is excellent for your Traveler since it will buff your ER stat, as well as give your Elemental Burst a damage boost. To this end, it nearly does the same as Nobless Oblige.

Aggravate Reaction Electro Traveler Build

  • Weapons - Iron Sting, Dark Iron Sword
  • Artifact Sets - Thundering Fury

While the Electro Traveler is essentially a one-trick pony, you could try and use them to trigger reactions, specifically Dendro, and create a Reaction build.

It's no secret that Aggravate has made Electro characters much more viable, and while building your Electro Traveler away from Energy Recharge and support will spread them too thin in terms of how they perform, this is certainly an option for your Traveler to deal decent damage. Having them as the main on-field DPS and triggering reactions will mean pumping them full of Elemental Mastery.

In terms of weapon choice, you will want to use one that has Elemental Mastery as its bonus stat. A great free-to-play option is the Iron Sting which can be forged in-game, or the Dark Iron Sword, which can be found in Liyue. If you happen to have a five-star Freedom-Sworn sword lying around, this would be your best option by far.

This build will definitely be fun to play around with. The problem is, you would almost certainly have better characters to fill that role by the time you unlock Inazuma. Equally, the Dendro Traveler would work better supporting another Electro like Keqing in this sort of build.

Once you unlock the area of Sumeru, you will be able to change your Traveler to the Dendro element. For those who want to use the Traveler more actively in teams, building them as support to an Aggravate Reaction unit will be what you want to do.

Artifact Stat Priority For Electro Traveler

Grinding the perfect Artifact in Genshin Impact can feel like running into a brick wall. It can be extremely frustrating to get the one you want, while also getting one with optimal sub-stats. To this end, you should always aim for the Main Stat you want on an Artifact and worry about the sub-stats later on.

Here's what you should prioritise when looking for Artifacts for your Electro Traveler:

Talent Priority For Electro Traveler

Talents are super important for increasing the effectiveness of your characters. At the cost of Mora and some materials, each four and five-star unit has three talents that can be levelled up from one to ten, and the order in which you do this can be important.

Generally, getting your favourite character's talents to level six across the board is a good baseline. For the Electro Traveler, you'll want to prioritise in this order: Elemental Skill first, Elemental Burst second, and then Normal Attack last if at all. For a support build, you can choose not to level the Electro Traveler's Normal Attack Talent, since they won't be using their Normal Attack at all.
