While you work hard planting, crafting, fixing, and everything in between, you will have a chance to grow a selection of flowers that come in different colors. From seasonal, to little hybrids, here's how you can find seed variants to plant in your garden.

What Are Seed Variants?

Seed variants are a mechanic introduced in the game to give you some collection variety and liven up your garden. In simple terms, there are color variations for every available plant and flower.

Some variants are easier to obtain than others, but they all follow the same general principle; you'll either be able to buy them in Leslie's Shop or they'll appear rather spontaneously in your garden.

Buying Seeds From Leslie's

Leslie's is the town's one-stop shop for all gardening-related items. It will be the first thing you'll be able to interact with as you wander into the Town Square, and you'll find different tools, decorative trinkets, and seeds among the selection Leslie offers.

Seed variants will be listed under the flowers tab. The packaging will generally have a noticeable color border around it, indicating the flower seed's color variation.

You'll also be able to see the color when you select a seed packet. Each packet explicitly states the plant color in the name (Red Rose, Yellow Daffodil, etc.).

The spread in Leslie's shop is seasonal, as you'll see in the banner on the left side of the screen when you enter the shop.

Getting Seed Variants From Your Garden

This is a little trickier to pin down because it happens at random. Normally, plants will produce seeds after they've been grown for at least an entire in-game day.

The most standard thing that will happen is that a plant will give out the same kind of seeds it was planted from. So, a Red Rose Bush will give you Red Rose Seeds and so on.

You will know a plant is ready to harvest seeds from when it "glows," which means it will have little green wisps flowing from it.

All plants are capable of producing different seed variants on occasion. You will be able to tell when you've gotten a different variant because the plant will glow a different color.
