Garden Witch Life is all about struggling to find your way in life and being forced to move back home with your mom, until you stumble upon a free farm, of course. No strings attached, you acquire some land and a treehouse in a small village.

There's nothing quite like farming on the go.
PostsEvery farming game has its unique mechanics and characters, and there's not much going on in the town, and it's your job to build a community and make a dry, deserted land into a bustling production. This guide will share tips to help make your journey into Garden Witch Life a little bit easier.
Use The Community Box, Not MagiBuy
There are two different ways you can sell items in Garden Witch Life. There is a MagiBuy machine, which you can find in the center of town, and there is also a Community Box next to Aurel's general store.
If you sell items at a MagiBuy machine, it will only sell for one single gold coin each, no matter the item. You should be selling items via the Community Box, as it is the only way to sell items for their actual value, which will earn you good money.
It takes a couple of days to get money from what you put in the Community Box.
Craft A Compost Bin
Farming is the main focus of what brings players to Garden Witch Life. One of the most important parts of cultivating a farm is fertilizing! To acquire fertilizer, you first need to craft a Compost Bin, and then place any plant matter into the Compost Bin.
Players automatically have a workbench inside their treehouse. The Compost Bin recipe requires one Raised Bed, 10 Grass, and one Plank.
You must wait a couple of days for the process to occur, turning plant matter into fertilizer. To place fertilizer onto crops, walk over the crop and press the "use" button (Y or Triangle on the controller) that you press to use your tools.
Craft A Magic Lens
There is no way to tell how your crops are doing unless you craft and utilize a Magic Lens or microscope. The recipe for a Magic Lens is automatically in your workbench already. It requires one Stick and one Glass.
Magic Lens can be used on crops and wildlife. Press Y or Triangle on the controller, next to any crop or animal to inspect their state.
This allows you to view many things about plants. The Magic Lens shows you how far along in growth your crop is. For instance, the image above shows "3/6", meaning it has three more growth phases before it will be ready to harvest.
The inspection menu also lets you view how much fertilizer the plant currently has, crop health, and more, making these lenses the only way to get detailed information about plants. While using the lens on animals on your farm, you will be able to view what resources they drop and if they are fed.
You Can Get Free Cake, Daily
There are multiple food items in the game to replenish your stats: Health, Mental Energy, Stamina, and Hunger. May, at the cafe in the center of town, offers free ingredients daily, and you can use her kitchen to cook your own cake, which replenishes your Hunger.
Head to the back of the cafe, in the kitchen where the tutorial took place; fresh ingredients to make Cake Batter will be in the fridge and pantry every day. Take the Cake Batter to the oven to create a Cake, and bring it to the cutting board at home to create slices to eat.
One single cake from May grants you eight slices of cake.

PostsYou Can Change Your Appearance At Any Time
Nothing beats being able to change your appearance at any time in a video game. Garden Witch Life allows players to do just that, and it may be hard to notice, but there is a diamond-shaped mirror in your treehouse, in the very first room next to where your bed is originally placed.
This mirror opens the Character Creation menu, where you have access to all the sliders you originally had access to.
There is no purchasing of new hairstyles or clothing items in the game.
Work Towards Upgrading Your Pickaxe
There are two things you want to focus on at the beginning of the game. Getting a head start on your farm and completing quests. Cultivating a farm should come easy, as you are given seeds, tools, and the means to create fertilizer.
New seeds can be purchased at the capybara named Aurel, past Tin.
Once you start completing a couple of side quests, your game might feel empty for a bit. Quests won't pop up as much anymore. During this period, you should work towards upgrading your pickaxe.
Upgrading your pickaxe from regular to Silver will allow you to enter the mines next to Tin's workshop. At the start, the mines are closed off due to rocks at the entrance inside. You need a Silver Pickaxe to break these rocks and get deeper into the mines, but you cannot craft better tools in Garden Witch Life; you must purchase them at Tin's shop.

The Goal Is To Grow Your Mental Energy
The goal of the plot is to eventually make that phone call home; at the beginning of the game, you were supposed to tell your mom you didn't succeed and have to return home, but your character couldn't do it. You need to earn enough Mental Energy to phone home, which you can do by accessing the higher levels of the treehouse.
There is a door next to the front entrance that leads to a new room containing a cellar door and a ladder; this ladder is covered by strong vines, which need to be cut by a Silver Axe, and itleads to a second floor, which has a door leading to a branch. Sitting at this branch initiates the call, and you need 100 Mental Energy to phone home.
