In Just A Few Days, GTA 6's Cover Art Trailer Already Has More Views Than Most Of SGF's Strongest Announcements
Grand Theft Auto 6's cover art reveal and pre-order date trailer may have only been just over 30 seconds long, but it's still already gathered more views than almost all of this month's biggest reveals.
As the whole world has been painfully aware of since Trailer 2 dropped more than a year ago, the whole world has been absolutely desperate for any kind of news on GTA 6. Despite all of the demands for a third trailer and more information, Rockstar has kept completely quiet in that time, leaving us to keep hearing Take-Two promise that another delay wasn't going to happen.
That finally all changed a few days ago when Rockstar decided to drop a bombshell on GTA 6 fans with an incredibly short trailer that revealed the game's cover art, its main theme, and a rapidly approaching pre-order date of June 25. Even if the trailer was so short it could have just been an email, the power of GTA has already caused it to eclipse most of this month's biggest announcements.
GTA 6's Pre-Order Trailer Already Has More Views Than Most Of SGF's Big Reveals
Only One Game Is Ahead... For Now
As pointed out by Twitter user SynthPotato, Rockstar's official YouTube upload of the Grand Theft Auto 6 cover art reveal has already managed to amass nearly nine million views since it went live two days ago. That number is continuing to steadily rise, which is pretty impressive considering the trailer is only just over 30 seconds long.
SynthPotato also pointed out that this view count means that the new GTA 6 trailer has already managed to beat the lengthy God of War Laufey reveal that debuted at PlayStation's State of Play showcase. While Synth suggests that this makes it the most-viewed trailer in a stacked month of gaming reveals, that isn't actually the case.
As we reported earlier in the month after most of the big Summer Game Fest showcases had been and gone, there was one trailer that surprisingly led the pack as the biggest reveal of the season. I am, of course, talking about Spyro: A Realm Beyond, which was leading the pack a few weeks ago with over 10 million views.
Now, more than a week later, Spyro's next game is still standing as the biggest announcement of Summer Game Fest with a whopping 16 million views, nearly double what the GTA 6 cover art reveal trailer currently has. Although the power of GTA is clearly very strong, it's not been enough just yet to overtake Spyro as the month's most-viewed trailer.
It's worth noting that Spyro managed that massive view count in more than a week, so it's very likely that GTA 6's pre-order trailer will manage to catch up in the coming days before pre-orders begin.
