GTA 6 Pre-Orders Include GTA+ Free Trial, But Remember To Turn Off Auto-Renewal
GTA 6 pre-orders are here, and they come with quite a few extras. Not just the Vintage Vice City pack that's no use until the game launches on November 19, but a free month of GTA+ that can be redeemed right away. You're going to want to turn off auto-renew if you don't plan on sticking around to pay for it, though.
Claim Your Free Month Of GTA+, But Make Sure You Turn Off Auto-Renew
The free month of GTA+ hasn't been flaunted quite as much as the Vintage Vice City pre-order bonus, which is odd, as it's the only real reason for committing to buy the game this early outside of sheer excitement. GTA+ is the Rockstar subscription service that gives in-game currency for GTA Online every month, other exclusive in-game perks, and, best of all, access to a library of Rockstar games for no additional cost, including Bully, Red Dead Redemption, and the definitive editions of the three GTA games that originally released on PS2.

Time to pre-order GTA 6. Here's everything you need to know before securing your copy ahead of release.
Posts By Josh CoulsonAccess to GTA 5 and GTA Online are the real selling points of giving it away with GTA 6 pre-orders; however, as it means even more people will be playing the 13-year-old game in the final few months before GTA 6 arrives. Rockstar is clearly banking on you maintaining your GTA+ subscription, as written in the small print of the pre-order bonus section is the auto-renewal warning.
Even though you will not be charged when you redeem your free month of GTA+, auto-renewal will be on by default. That means, if either you're having too much fun to think about it, or you redeemed it for the sake of it and then immediately forgot, after the trial has ended, you will be charged $7.99 for the following month.
Then $7.99 for the month after that if you still don't cancel it, although at that stage, you really only have yourself to blame.
You Can Turn Off Auto-Renewal Right Away
The auto-renew trick at the end of a free trial is one that most subscription services practice, but it has annoyed GTA fans who've spotted it nonetheless. Access to GTA+ for free is a great perk, but the hope, beyond getting new and lapsed players back into GTA Online, is clearly that people will forget about it and keep on paying.
The good news is that you can make sure your subscription doesn't auto-renew as soon as you have activated it. Find Subscriptions Management in your account settings, and cancel your subscription there. You won't lose access to GTA+ until your free month has ended.

As well as backlash to an auto-renewing pre-order bonus, the reveal that physical copies of the game will just be codes in boxes also isn't sitting well with a lot of people. There is a potential silver lining, though, with a reliable insider, now backed by Rockstar support, claiming a physical edition of GTA 6 with the game on the disc will be released at a later date, potentially as soon as December.
