Fortnite's Big Bang Event Confirms Rumoured Lego And Rocket League Crossovers

Fortnite's Big Bang event has confirmed the long-standing rumours of crossovers with Lego and Rocket League, as well as having a musical segment that looked a lot like a more basic version of Guitar Hero.
Today has been one of the most exciting days in Fortnite history. Not only did we get our first look at Chapter 5, but Epic also confirmed that Fortnite: OG is going to come back in 2024 at some point. The cherry on top of all that big news was the Big Bang event, which just took place and gave us a look at the long-rumoured crossovers with Lego and Rocket League.

I used to play Fortnite every day. Now when I occasionally jump back in, I don't really know what I'm looking at anymore.
PostsEpic has been teasing that the Big Bang was going to be a big moment for Fortnite, but it wasn't exactly clear what the event was going to entail. As it turns out, it was a multiverse-spanning tour of what appears to be several new game modes for Fortnite that are tied to different collaborations.
The first thing shown during the Big Bang event was the crossover with Lego, which took the players on a tour of a Lego version of The Island. It didn't have much gameplay to it and was more of a cinematic, but it did finally confirm that the crossover is real. Rumours have suggested that it's going to be its own game mode in the future, so it appears that the Big Bang was intended to be a tease for that.
After that, players were whisked off to a racing segment that featured Rocket League cars, which is another mode that's been rumoured to be coming to Fortnite for a long time. This section actually featured gameplay and showed off the upcoming mode, which might mean that it's coming sooner than we think.
The final section of the Big Bang was a musical segment featuring Eminem, who rapped along to Lose Yourself and Godzilla. This section resembled Fortnite's past concerts, but it also featured a Guitar Hero-esque minigame where the player had to press buttons to the beat. Again, this seems to be a tease for a game mode of some kind, as insiders have previously hinted at.
All in all, as cool as the Big Bang event was, it's left us with more questions than it has answers. It's not clear yet if all three of these segments are going to be their own thing or if they were just there for the event, but it does at least seem like the Lego and Rocket League sections were hints for bigger things in the future.
