Final Fantasy Fans Are Roasting Crisis Core Reunion's Voice Acting

Final Fantasy fans don't seem too impressed with Crisis Core Reunion's voice acting, as they've taken to social media to roast some of the game's key scenes.Earlier this month, Final Fantasy fans had quite the moment of disappointment after seeing the remade version of Crisis Core's iconic "Me? Gongaga." scene. The original version of the scene was turned into a meme for how ridiculous the phrasing was, but it was also Rick Gomez's performance that made it so beloved. For Reunion, all of the main voice cast has been changed, and the results aren't getting a very warm reception.Related: Final Fantasy 14 Community Spotlight: Lalafells Of The Caribbean - The FinaleOne example of how fans are reacting to the voice acting in Reunion comes from Twitter user headsfalloff, who shared a scene of Zack and Aerith talking in Sector 5 with the caption, "Every cutscene in this new Crisis Core feels like what all the guys who hate jrpgs think Final Fantasy is", in reference to the awkward exchange between the two. On YouTube, there are several comparison videos showing off the difference between the original and Reunion, with most of the comments noting that they prefer the PSP voice actors, especially when it comes to Zack. One video even edits the old voice clips onto the new scenes in hopes of "fixing the crappy voice acting".It's worth noting that, aside from a few small tweaks, the script of Crisis Core Reunion is the exact same as it originally was. Most Final Fantasy fans seem to agree that the writing has always been bad, but it was held up by some strong voice acting from the original cast that made it and Zack Fair as iconic as they are.Next: Final Fantasy 16 Has Earned The Right To Take Itself Seriously
