Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Credits Are As Unreliable As Cloud's Memories

A Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth fan has discovered an interesting detail about the game's credits sequence and how it reflects Cloud's state at the end of the game.
Before Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth launched, we all knew that the game would do something interesting and different with the infamously heartbreaking sequence in the City of the Ancients, and that's exactly what we got. Although we're all still recovering from how that moment played out in the remake's timeline, it seems that there's still a lot to uncover for how it all went down.
Spoiler warning for the final act of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth below. You've been warned!

PostsWith that spoiler warning out of the way, it's safe to say that Cloud isn't exactly in a good state at the end of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. We see him struggling with his misplaced memories throughout the game, but things really come to a head when Aerith seemingly dies at the hands of Sephiroth and he's not all that fussed after seeing another timeline's Aerith alive and well.
Cloud's memories and mental state are clearly fractured, arguably even more so than in the original game, and this is something that's actually subtly referenced in the game's credits. As pointed out by Twitter user _subtxt_, Rebirth's credits have an interesting little detail that's easy to miss but spells out just how messed up Cloud is during the game's conclusion.
As the credits roll, nearly all of the game's cutscenes are shown on the left-hand side of the screen, acting as a nice way of recapping everything you've experienced up to that point. Note how I said "nearly", as all of the scenes to do with Aerith's death like her water burial and the scenes of her spirit standing next to the Tiny Bronco are all completely left out.
Some fans have suggested that, beyond showing how Cloud has seen these events, this could be leading up to some kind of big reveal about what actually happened at the City of the Ancients.
The only part of those cutscenes that makes it into the recap is the final shot of Aerith standing on the plains and watching the Tiny Bronco soaring through the air. This seems to have purposefully been done to reflect how Cloud is viewing these events and represent how unreliable his memories and experiences are throughout the game.
It's a neat little detail that is very easy to miss if you're not paying especially close attention to the credits, and one that just further compounds how much Cloud is going to have to deal with in the third part of the trilogy. Here's hoping he gets somewhat of a happy ending within all those timelines.
