Here's how to tackle all four steps of the Phenomenon Intel quest in the Grasslands Region of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth!
PostsEach region in the game features its own Chocobo, which you'll typically need to complete a quest for in order to acquire the ability to use a Chocobo for navigation and exploration. Junon follows this pattern, requiring you to complete its quest to obtain your own special Chocobo. The good news is that the quest becomes available as soon as you set foot there.
How To Begin Stuck In A Rut
The Stuck In A Rut quest becomes available as soon as you reach the Junon region as part of the main story. You can pick it up and start the quest at the Chocobo Ranch located there. Simply speak to Gabe, the ranch owner, to begin the quest.
Where To Find Chocobo Belle
Since this is a new region, you won't have access to a Chocobo immediately, as you need to acquire one specific to each region. Your first objective will be to find Belle.
Head toward the updated objective on the map, and you'll come across an area where you need to sneak around multiple Chocobos without being spotted.
This area is a bit different to navigate compared to your previous one. You'll notice switches that move crates, and you'll need to follow them slowly to avoid detection by the Chocobos.
Start by heading toward the first switch and activating it. Move slowly with the crate until you reach the second switch. Activate the second switch, then pick up the nearby rocks as you'll need them. Once the crate is in place, activate the second switch again by throwing a rock at it.
Continue to move slowly as the crates move. Eventually, you'll spot the third switch in front of you. Use a rock to hit this switch and activate the cart. Here's where it gets a bit tricky.
First, follow the crate from the right side to avoid the first Chocobo. Shortly after, you'll encounter another Chocobo on the right side, so switch to the left side of the cart to avoid it. After you've avoided the second Chocobo, you'll spot Belle.
However, you'll need to return to the right side of the cart to avoid being spotted by Belle. Once you reach Belle from behind, interact with it, and you'll acquire your Chocobo for use in the Junon region.
This action will mark the completion of the World Intel: Birds of the Mountain task in the Junon region.
Where To Find All The Materials
With the Chocobo Belle, you'll gain the ability to climb walls marked with garnish graffiti and reach higher spots, which is precisely what you need to reach your next objective. Inside the hut, interact with the character there, and he will task you with finding three materials to fix Gabe's cart.
You'll receive a map note that marks the locations of three materials, and you'll need your Chocobo to dig for them in order to collect them.
Material Location #1
The first material is situated to the north of the Remnawave Towers. While riding your Chocobo in that area, you'll notice a red question mark at the top, indicating that the material is nearby at the bottom of the building. To locate it, hold the up button on the d-pad and move your camera until you spot a trail leading to the material's location.
Once you've found the trail, follow it to the end where you'll catch a glimpse of the material's exact location. Ride your Chocobo there and use the down button on the d-pad to dig and retrieve the first material, a piece of dried driftwood.
Material Location #2
The second material is situated to the west of your current location, near some abandoned houses. Again, you'll notice a red question mark at the top, confirming you're in the vicinity of the material.
Follow the same process as before: use your Chocobo to find the trail leading to the material's location. Once you've located it, dig at the spot to retrieve the second material, which will be at the back of the largest house there. Collect it to obtain a second piece of dried driftwood.
Material Location #3
For the final material, head a bit southwest from the previous location. In the middle of the road, you'll once again spot the red question mark indicating you're in the vicinity of the material.
As with the other locations, use your Chocobo to find the trail leading to the material. Dig at the spot indicated to acquire the last piece of dried driftwood.
Complete The Quest
With all the materials in hand, return to the hut and speak with Wainwright. Hand over the goods, and you'll receive all the carriage parts needed for Gabe. Next, head back to the ranch and speak to Gabe to complete the quest. Your rewards will include:
- 10 pieces of Condor Cedar
- 10 pieces of Mellow Oak
- A Queensguard Bangle
- And of course EXP, Party EXP, and affinity points toward Aerith.
With this quest completed, you'll unlock the ability to travel between Junon and the Grasslands region without needing to enter the mine. To utilize this fast travel service, simply speak to the ranch owner, either Bill in the Grasslands or Gabe in Junon.
