As you develop your Vault in Fallout Shelter, you'll find that there are more ways to enhance your experience. Aside from gear and weapons, pets offer unique advantages when assigned to Dwellers. Finding friendly animals in the wasteland is harder than you'd think, but thankfully, we've made a few furry friends.

PostsPets make a great addition to your Vault, and each Dweller has an opportunity to have their own. Here's everything you need to know about the pets you can find in Fallout Shelter, what their unique abilities are, and how they can help you improve the success of your Vault.
What Do Pets Do?
CloseIn Fallout Shelter, pets can be equipped to Dwellers like outfits and weapons. The offer unique bonuses, similar to how outfits provide SPECIAL stat increases.
Pet abilities are set, but the specific increase depends on the rarity of the pet. All pets have the chance to be Common, Rare, or Legendary, allowing you to collect many variants to obtain their bonuses.
It's a good idea to move pets around regularly to get the most of their abilities!
While every Dweller has the option to equip a pet, there is a limit to how many pets can be active in a room at once. A single room can accommodate one pet, while three fully merged rooms can hold up to three pets.
Pets also do a small amount of damage in combat and cannot be killed. If a Dweller dies on a quest with a pet, the pet will remain alive and return alone if you do not revive them.
Send pets with Dwellers on Survival mode to make sure you can keep the gear if the Dweller dies!
What Is The Best Way To Get Pets?
The best way to get pets is to open Pet Carriers, which guarantee one pet. You can buy these from the shop, find them on quests, or earn them as rewards by completing objectives.
You'll get one free Pet Carrier when your Vault reaches 15 Dwellers!
Completing objectives is a great way to get pet carriers, though not every objective offers them as a reward. You may need to complete several objectives or skip a few to find one with the reward you want.
