If you find yourself needing a whole bunch more screws, well you've come to the right place - just read through below to find out the best methods and locations to find screws fast in Fallout 76.

Updated April 30, 2024, by Andrew Scariati: With the recent boom in Fallout 76's population, you may be looking for locations to farm screws and other valuable resources across Appalachia. Searching for where to get screws in Fallout 76 can be frustrating, so we've assembled a group of locations for you to check for screws.

If you only want to know where to get screws in Fallout 76, our list at the bottom can serve as your reference.

How To Get More Screws In Fallout 76

One of the most common and easiest ways to get screws is by scrapping common objects, and you can find screws within dozens upon dozens of the objects littered through Fallout 76's wasteland.

If you manage to find an office building, harvest typewriters, fans, telephones, and search through drawers for extra screws lying around.

If you want an easy place to start, dismantle pretty much everything you find until something has a screw.

Tab over to Junk in your menu and highlight specific resources you'd like to find, in this case, screws.

This will place a magnifying glass icon on any items that contain that resource in the Wasteland.

Which Enemies Drop Screws?

Enemies can also drop screws in Fallout 76, and most Vault Dwellers that have been farming screws know that one of the very best enemies to go after is the Wendigo.

The Wendigo is a little green mutant, and it can be incredibly vicious and brutal. We'll go over where to find Wendigo below, but watch out, if you find yourself up against more than one, then you might find things incredibly difficult if you're not at a very high level.

Super Mutants are another great source of screws, but a Wendigo is a more reliable target for fast and easy screws in Fallout 76.

The Best Locations To Find Screws In Fallout 76

To start our grand screw farm, the first thing you should be aware of is the Event: A Colossal Problem, located in the Monongah Mine. This high-level event begins when you launch a nuke on the mine, triggering the event and an impending boss fight.

Once you have a nuke launched, you'll have five minutes to go into the arena.

You will be up against multiple Wendigo mutants, which you will already know are great for dropping screws.

Completing this quest will see you fighting a herd of Wendigoes, and looting dozens of screws from their corpses.

The next location is in the Abandoned Bog Town, which can be found along Route 65.

There is a multi-story building here. Find the stairs on the side of the building, climb to the top, and you'll be able to drop into the building through an elevator shaft. There is a lot of loot here, including the typewriters and telephones we mentioned earlier.

Fill your inventory with junk, then dismantle it all later to reap the rewards.

Our next recommendation is the Wendigo Cave in the Savage Divide region, and if you've read this guide so far, you'll know exactly why from the name alone.

The Wendigo Cave is full of Wendigo, and it can be difficult to survive if you don't have the stats and gear to combat them all.

However, if you're prepared, then you can utterly devastate them, and come out with pockets full of screws as a reward.

Sugar Grove in the Savage Divide region is another spot where you'll find plenty of screws. Head inside the main facility area and loot everything you find on the desks.

There will be plenty of screws among the wreckage here once you clean out the robotic enemies that await you.

If you don't want to spend caps on fast travel, Fort Atlas – also in the Savage Divide – is an excellent location to check for low-risk screw farming.

The home to the Brotherhood of Steel is an excellent location to educate yourself on Brotherhood lore, perform tasks for them, and even farm the free items lying around for screws.

Lastly, you can also head southeast to the former Allegheny Asylum, now called Fort Defiance in the Cranberry Bog. This is a wonderful farming location for whatever you may need.

There are several enemies to fight and dozens of lootable resources inside, including screws and other rare items.

You can also visit the third floor of this location to farm the legendary Asylum Outfits.

For easy reference on where to farm screws in Fallout 76, here is our full list of locations:

  1. Abandoned Bog Town (Route 65) – Cranberry Bog
  2. Fort Defiance – Cranberry Bog
  3. Wendigo Cave – Savage Divide
  4. Sugar Grove – Savage Divide
  5. Fort Atlas – Savage Divide
