You'll need Salt in Enshrouded if you want to craft the Scout Armor Set, as Salt is required to turn Animal Fur into Dried Fur. Salt is a material that you can mine with a Pickaxe in the Egerton Salt Mines. Once you've unlocked the Ranger via the required vault, you can construct the Drying Rack and begin turning your Animal Fur into Dried Fur.

Dried Fur is required to craft the first Backpack upgrade, as well as various other pieces of armor and furniture, like a bed.

Where To Find Salt

The easiest place to get plenty of salt is the Egerton Salt Mines. This area is shown on the map above.

The Egerton Salt Mines are located in an Enshrouded zone, which means you can only spend a limited amount of time there.

Once you've completed the first Ancient Spire, you can quickly fast travel and then use the Glider to sail into the mines. If you head to the eastern section, there is an easy place to mine for salt, located close to an exit from the Enshrouded, so you can dip in and out and mine freely.

How To Get The Drying Rack

Once you've got your Salt, you'll want to turn your regular Animal Fur into Dried Fur.

To do this, you'll need to first unlock the Ranger NPC and then craft the Drying Rack.

This is a fairly simple recipe, only requiring Wooden Logs and String.

Dried Fur is crafted at a ratio of one-to-three, which means for every one Animal Fur you'll need three Salt.

Dried Fur

Dried Fur is used to craft the Scout Armor Set, which improves your overall Stamina, Critical Damage chance, Ranged Damage, and Stamina Regeneration.

You can also use Dried Fur to craft a Bed which will allow you to skip through nights at 60x speed.
