Glass becomes one of the most important resources in Enshrouded's endgame. Glass speeds up all the production of endgame materials by crafting more equipment in your base, such as the Laboratory. Not only that, Glass also unlocks a ton of fancy new furniture, decorations, buildings, and illumination for your base. There is no question that you need a lot of this.

Enshrouded is still in early access, and the information given might be subject to change in the future.
Where To Find Glass
Glass is actually crafted in a Smelter. The main problem is getting the recipe because quests or even side quests will never show you where to find them. Glass needs Sand and Charcoal, and getting both Charcoal and Sand willunlock the Glass crafting recipe in the Smelter.
Go to the Kindlewastes or any desert biome and equip a pickaxe. Mine the sand with a pickaxe until you get Sand. Since you already have Charcoal at this point in the game, you should instantly unlock the Glass craft upon getting Sand. You'll unlock a ton of other recipes by discovering Sand too.
When you are mining the sand, you might get Sandstone instead of Sand. Make sure you are mining the light orange sand instead of the darker one. In most cases, you are getting both Sand and Sandstone, but if you mine deep enough, it might all just be Sandstone.
Once you have the materials ready, place Sand and Charcoal in the Smelter and switch the recipe to Glass. If you are crafting multiple resources, you might need to craft another Smelter for Glass.
Bronze Bars take at least three Smelters and two Charcoal Kilns to process, so you might need another Charcoal Kiln, too. At this point, you should also be close to the Iron Ore or Iron Bars, so it is up to you whether you should get more Smelters or discontinue some other processes like Bronze Bars, Tin Bars, and Copper Bars.
Where Do You Get Glass Shards?
While Glass Shards are only used to craft more Glass, there are no other ways to craft Glass Shards. Glass Shards drop from mining glass-like structures from high-level areas such as the Kindlewastes. They also drop from random ceramic pots from the Ancient Spires in Kindlewastes.
What Is Glass Used For?
While Glass allows you to craft multiple things, most players need them for crafting the Laboratory. The Laboratory opens up several useful reagents for crafting high-level materials. Apart from Glass, the Laboratory needs a lot of other tools, but it is worth crafting at least two just because of all the things you can craft with it.
Glass also unlocks the Eternal Acid Bite from the Alchemist. This spell is an "Eternal" spell, meaning you can cast it an unlimited number of times, and it will never run out. It saves a lot of resources, especially for good spells that require a lot of high-value materials.
Apart from these two useful crafts, Glass also unlocks a ton of fancy furniture, such as glass tables. Chandeliers also require Glass, and it is one of the best illumination pieces in the game.
