Throughout Elden Ring's Lands Between are a collection of strange, massive creatures wandering and promising a great reward for those daring to unlock the secrets they hold. The Walking Mausoleums live up to their name; gigantic buildings of stone on four legs standing far above the heads of the lowly Tarnished and walking about in wide, open spaces.

PostsRemoving the white patches upon their exteriors will calm down these restless wandering beasts, and within the sanctums they protect, you'll gain access to the coffin within. Interacting with it will allow you to duplicate the Remembrances of certain bosses so that you may take them to the Finger Reader, Enia, in Roundtable Hold and receive an additional reward.
Weeping Peninsula Walking Mausoleum
Typically, the first Walking Mausoleum players encounter is situated in the great open field south of the Fourth Church of Marika. You'll likely hear its bell tolling from the main road farther east on your way to Castle Morne to complete Irina's quest.
It's the most straightforward of the Mausoleums, and you can ride Torrent while striking the white patches on the Mausoleum's feet.
Liurnia Walking Mausoleums
There are two sets of Walking Mausoleums in Liurnia:
- One near Raya Lucaria and Bellum Highway in the swamp.
- Two are north of the Ruined Labyrinth near the Mausoleum Compound.
Bellum Highway
The first Walking Mausoleum you'll probably encounter in this location is the trickiest to get into in comparison to all the other ones. This is because you'll need to climb the cliffs near the Bellum Highway and jump from the gravestones on the cliffside onto the Mausoleum once it gets close enough.
In order to do this, you can either come from the Sorcerer's Isle Site of Grace and use the air pocket on the cliffside with Torrent to reach the top or use the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace and walk to the cliffside from there.
If you leave the East Raya Lucaria Gate Site of Grace at night and have not already defeated it, a Night's Cavalry will appear there and attack you.
Carefully jump down the gravestones until you've reached the bottom third of the gravestones and then wait until the Mausoleum has walked over to you. This may take some time, but eventually, you'll be able to jump down onto the side of the Mausoleum and begin clearing the white patches there so it will sit and allow you to open the door.
Mausoleum Compound
There are two Mausoleums here that might prove a tad tricky to get to. Typically, the average adventurer will need to fight through the Ruined Labyrinth northward and come upon the first Mausoleum in the field there. The second is in the plateau directly above it.
While there are no guards surrounding them, these Mausoleums have the strange urge to occassionally jump. You'll need to clear their feet of white patches in between jumps, running away when it begins to crouch so that you're not hit by the shockwave on its descent.
It has also been discovered by Leviathan that these Walking Mausoleums stop jumping and stomping around to rest during the Late Night phase of the in-game time cycle until morning. If you so choose, you can wait until this period of time and clear out their feet without worrying about them stomping on you — though this method does require a large waiting period.
Deeproot Depths Walking Mausoleum
Down in the Deeproot Depths, accessible via two complicated ways, awaits a Mausoleum in a watery basinin the northmost area. Much like the Walking Mausoleum near the Bellum Highway, you'll need to jump onto this Mausoleum and clean the white patches around the exterior of the building itself. Thankfully, the jump is much simpler this time. You'll need to use the roots directly next to the Mausoleum to jump onto it.
There are a number of Death Blight creatures and walking guards in your way, but these can be entirely avoided and ignored while dashing by on Torrent.
Mountain Tops Of The Giants Walking Mausoleum
Although the method of accessing the Mausoleum here is as simple as clearing its feet, the approach to it is not nearly so. Located near the Castle Sol Main Gate Site of Grace, lightning will continuously strike around you as you approach the castle and while you're attempting to strike its feet.
For accessing this Mausoleum, it is recommended to ignore it first and touch the nearby Site of Grace (if you haven't already) in case the combination of the lightning and the Mausoleum's walking shockwaves catch you off-guard. Afterward, simply strike at its feet until it begins to sit. Be warned that the lightning will continue even after the Mausoleum is resting, so enter as quickly as you can to avoid being struck.
If you'd like to defeat this Mausoleum and others with feet-located white patches quickly, you can use the Wave of Gold weapon skill to hit all of its feet at once and essentially one-shot it.
Consecrated Snowfield Walking Mausoleum
Accessible on the hill just outside of the Apostate Derelicton the far northern side of the Consecrated Snowfield. If you haven't yet reached the Apostate Derelict, you can follow the frozen river northward and then branch off to the left to begin climbing the hill once you hear the Walking Mausoleum's bell and can see it in the distance.
This Mausoleum shoots a barrage of ice magic at you as you approach. In order to get to this Walking Mausoleum, you'll need to be on Torrent and sprint quickly toward it, avoiding the Mausoleum's relentless attacks. Once close enough, run under the Walking Mausoleum. Its attacks cannot reach underneath it, so this area is the safest place to run on Torrent while trying to clear it of the white patches on its feet.
Take care, however, to not get caught under its walking feet. Once you hear the magic stop and the Walking Mausoleum pauses in its walking, run away to avoid being crushed by the Walking Mausoleum as it rests itself on the ground and allows you access to the final Mausoleum.
