Summary

  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's bosses are being cheesed in different ways almost every way, and DrDootPhD has managed to instakill Radahn without touching him at all.
  • Using Assassin's Gambit, Unseen Form, and Mimic's Veil, they manage to go invisible and have Radahn walk outside the game's rendering distance.
  • This tactic makes Radahn despawn and instantly kills him, proving that pacifism is the deadliest weapon in Elden Ring.

Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree DLC has been in the hands of players for a little while now, which means they've had plenty of time to suss out all the expansion's weird quirks and bugs and use them to their full advantage. We've already seen various bosses across the DLC cheesed in all sorts of different manners, whether it be slinging spells into Rellana's arena from the outside, or instakilling Radahn with some jolly cooperation.

This is Elden Ring though, and we know there are countless ways to ridicule opponents who you once thought were impenetrable walls of difficulty. Twitch streamer DrDootPhD is one such individual who has made a career out of embarrassing Elden Ring bosses, having played through the base with a saxophone without getting hit once. It's not his saxophone he's using to one up Radahn though - it's a statue.

With nothing but a couple of spells and the Mimic's Veil, DrDootPhD managed to kill Radahn in just two hits, all without laying a single hand on him or blowing a vicious doot in his direction. Instead, DrDootPhD chooses a pacifist route of beating Radahn by simply hiding, entering the room and then activating the Assassin's Gambit skill and Unseen Form sorcery to essentially disappear.

Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree Fan Instakills Radahn With Mimic's Veil

With nobody nearby to ground into dirt, Radahn simply walks away from DrDootPhD and then loses half of his health, activating his second phase as a result. However, DrDootPhD cleverly used Mimic's Veil before the second phase was activated, meaning Radahn again had nobody to fight in his second phase, as the game's AI doesn't recognize players that use Mimic's Veil as long as they don't move. Radahn then walks off into the distance again, losing the rest of his health, causing DrDootPhD to come out victorious by barely lifting a finger.

If you're wondering exactly what's going on here, it's most likely due to how massive Radahn's arena is. Since he can't detect an enemy, Radahn returns to his idling spot, which just so happens to be outside the game's rendering distance. He then despawns, but Elden Ring thinks that this is him dying, so he loses all of his health as a result. It's a very cheesy and dishonorable way to beat him, but considering DrDootPhD beat the rest of the DLC with a saxophone, maybe Radahn is better off just noping out of the arena.
