Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree - How To Get The Dueling Shield

There are a handful of new weapon archetypes introduced in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. The Dueling Shield belongs to one such archetype; Thrusting Shields. When equipped, it allows you to attack while blocking. If you can stack enough stamina to keep going, the shield can obliterate most enemies and even some bosses before they have a chance to do any damage.

PostsIt is equally potent in PvP, providing great damage while making you practically invincible. To find the Dueling Shield, you will need to progress through the game a little until you reach the Shadow Keep.
How To Get The Dueling Shield
You will need to head over to the Shadow Keep to get the Dueling Shield. It is one of the legacy dungeons near the north side of Scadu Atlus.
In the Shadow Keep, continue to progress ahead until you reach the ‘Storehouse, First Floor’ Site of Grace. While you are here, turn to your left until you see a staircase heading up.
Once you are up the stairs, head to your immediate left until you see another staircase on your right — if you see a Fire Knight in front, you have gone too far.
CloseOn the second floor, you will see some wooden stairs heading up. The moment you go up, you will see a Fire Knight looking at a couple of large statues suspended in the air.
After you have dealt with the Fire Knight, look for a nearby area (with the statue of a beast suspended above it) that can only be accessed via walking on a narrow stone walkway. On the other side, you will see a corpse holding the Dueling Shield.
Dueling Shield Overview
You only require 15 Strength and 14 Dexterity in order to wield the Dueling Shield. By default, it has a D scaling in both Strength and Dexterity. However, you can also infuse it to change the stat scaling or to apply different on-hit effects. For example, at +25 Heavy infusion, the Dueling Shield gets a B scaling with Strength. You will need to use Smithing Stones to upgrade it to +25.
It comes with the Weapon Skill: Shield Strike, which lets you use it as a weapon as well. This allows you to benefit from things like the Two-Handed Sword Talisman to boost its damage even more.
Whenever you need more damage negation, you can buff it with something like Scholar's Shield. It is important to remember that shields can only be buffed if they are in your off-hand, so be sure to do that before you two-hand it.
Lastly, while you can pair it up with a Spear, the Dueling Shield does good damage on its own. If you two-hand it, hold block, and just hit the light attack, you will out-damage most of the enemies in the game as long as you have enough stamina to keep spamming the light attacks.
