FromSoftware's expansion for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is here, bringing a fresh wave of bosses to test your skill against. We're sure you'll spend PLENTY of time with each of them.
Posts 2Remembrance bosses, in particular, are those who are stronger than other bosses or essential to beat for the story to progress. Beating them grants an item called a remembrance, and you can trade those remembrances for boss weapons, incantations, or sorceries, depending on whichever boss you fought. Some of these Remembrance bosses have great boss weapons, while others are average at best.
This list will contain spoilers for the DLC.
Some of these remembrance bosses can spoil the surprise for you if you read on before playing the game yourself.
10 Scadutree Avatar
An Evil Sunflower Bent On Exploding You To Oblivion
The Scadutree Avatar is the only three-phase boss fight in this DLC, and though the fight against it is extremely easy, surviving three whole phases means you have to be properly leveled up to win.
Aiming for its head is the path to victory, as it can take much more damage to the face. Its remembrance can then be traded for an incantation called the Land of Shadow or a Colossal weapon where you wield the head of the beast itself. Both are alright weapons in their respective classes, but they fall short of what a remembrance weapon should be.
9 Putrescent Knight
St. Trina's Personal Guard
A boss fight that will make you a professional cliff jumper, Putrescent Knight is a remembrance boss you fight right before you find St. Trina, and his difficulty cannot be understated. Fighting him earlier than you will make the battle ten times harder.
But beating him early will reward you with some great offensive capability in the form of a Greataxe or one of the best sorceries in the game. Putrescent Knight's rhythmic movements and his constant aggression add to his difficulty, but it’s worth it to uncover some necessary lore about both St. Trina and Miquella.
8 Commander Gaius
Radahn's Rival Since They Were Kids
Commander Gaius is a remembrance boss you run into after exploring Shadow Keep and entering Scaduview. The fight against him is reminiscent of the Tree Sentinels in the base game, but the mounted Boar plays a huge role in the fight with the way it charges and attacks alongside Gaius.
He uses gravity magic, and his remembrance can give you Blades of Stone, a sorcery he made to outshine his rival, General Radahn himself. You can also get the Sword Lance he uses during the boss fight as the second Remembrance weapon.
7 Romina, Saint Of The Bud
The Scarlet Rot Is Part Of The Land Of Shadow, Too
A Scarlet Rot-themed boss and a non-optional fight to progress in the game, Romina Saint of the Bud is actually one of the easiest remembrance boss fights in Shadow of the Erdtree. You can find her by exploring the Ancient Ruins of Rauh and eventually finding the Church of the Bud.

PostsDefeating Romina can give you two great weapons. One’s a Halberd that can cause Scarlet Rot buildup and also has a great ash of war pre-attached to it, and the other’s an incantation that also builds up Scarlet Rot and can be great in PvP situations.
6 Divine Beast Dancing Lion
An Explosive Introduction To Shadow Of The Erdtree
Probably the very first remembrance boss you’ll face in the DLC, the Divine Beast Dancing Lion is one of the coolest boss fights in Elden Ring, with a ton of unique moves and boss mechanics that have rarely been seen before.
With the epic music, you’ll probably feel like you’re actually there when facing this beast of a boss, and once defeated, you can trade his remembrance for either a Talisman that will be useful if you’re utilizing storm-themed ash of wars/spells or a Frost Stomp ash of war that can be charged to hit harder.
5 Promised Consort Radahn
An Unexpected Twist Of Fate Led Us Here
The final boss fight of the DLC and currently considered to be the hardest boss fight in FromSoftware history, Promised Consort Radahn lives up to the hype by delivering a fight that will take you days to beat.
Not only is Radahn extremely difficult, but you have to fight him in his prime alongside Miquella. After defeating him, you can trade his remembrance for two greatswords Radahn wielded in his youth, as well as the Light of Miquella, the best incantation in Shadow of the Erdtree.
4 Messmer The Impaler
The Ideal Tough But Fair Boss Fight
via FromSoftwareMessmer the Impaler is the boss that Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree heavily marketed, and as such, most players expected a mechanically flawless boss fight with just the right amount of goosebumps, and we got exactly that.
By defeating him, you can either get the spear he wields, which has one of the coolest looking unique weapon skills in the game, and an incantation that requires a strong faith build to use effectively. After defeating Messmer, you can progress further into the DLC. Using his spear can turn the direction subsequent boss fights can go.
3 Midra, Lord Of Frenzied Flame
The Original Lord Of Frenzied Flame
What starts off as a fakeout boss transforms into one of the creepiest FromSoftware bosses to date, and of course, it’s a Frenzied Flame-themed boss fight. Midra was a failed Lord of Frenzied Flame, and now he stays at his manse, awaiting his defeat by your hands.

Have some faith, even in the Land of Shadow.
PostsBeating him is a feat on its own, but you get to use his amazingly versatile greatsword alongside one of the best incantations in the game. Midra’s Flame of Frenzy incantation can be molded into an excellent faith build if you have the patience to properly test it out.
2 Metyr, The Mother Of Fingers
The Real Boss Fight Is Looking At This Abomination
Metyr, The Mother of Fingers is a secret DLC boss that you can only fight if you progress Count Ymir’s quest line and blow the finger bells scattered across the Land of Shadow. The fight isn’t as difficult as other DLC bosses, but it’s certainly very disturbing just looking at this abomination.
Defeating Metyr can give you one of the best stalves in Elden Ring, which is capable of using both incantations as well as sorceries, giving you more variety and choice. The second weapon is the Gazing Finger, which is a slightly above-average colossal weapon with a great skill.
1 Rellana, Twin Moon Knight
More Of A Dance Than A Clash
One of the first two remembrance bosses most players will run into, Rellana is Renalla’s sister who left the Lands Between and renounced her birthright to find Messmer in the Land of Shadow, becoming his sworn blade in the process.
Rellana is one of the most fun boss fights in the DLC and defeating her gives you an equally fun remembrance weapon. Her twin blades have two different casts that can be incredibly useful in PvE. You can also get the Twin Moons sorcery, which is also equally overpowered, making Rellana’s remembrance weapons some of the best in the game.
