When you think 'festive game', you probably don't think of Elden Ring, that grueling open-world Soulslike full of death and misery. But one player, ParryWeasel, is seeking to change that this year. They put together a build called O Cryptmas Tree, dressing like a reindeer as they spread decorations throughout The Lands Between.

With some antlers on their head, a big glowing white torch, and a boatload of rainbow stones, they got to invading hosts and littering their worlds with Christmas cheer. One host even dropped an inventory of max-level weapons for ParryWeasel which were probably acquired through duping, but hey, it's the thought that counts.

Don't worry, that's just Christmas Cheer I'm casting. They become so jolly that they turn into Christmas Trees--it's all very wholesome!

There is a FromSoft twist to this holiday spirit, though. It's Elden Ring - just being a happy little invader dropping colourful stones for people isn't enough. Once their worlds are sufficiently decorated, ParryWeasel gets to work on killing them. Bit of poison gas, bit of turning them into a petrified tree. It's harmless, I'm sure. But for safe measure, if you run into O Cryptmas Tree on PlayStation, don't let your guard down too much.

"He gifts, you kill?" one commenter asked, concerned about the poor Tarnished falling into the snare that is an unsuspecting Christmas invader. "I'm just trying to decorate The Lands Between," ParryWeasel replied. Again, harmless I'm sure.

If you wanna decorate Elden Ring's wastes yourself, rainbow stones are pretty easy to come by. For one, they're craftable, but you can also farm them in Caelid. You can carry 99 and store 600, which is more than enough to add a bit of festivity to Elden Ring. Maybe Radagon and Malenia will put down their swords for the season, but something tells me they aren't the jolly type.

It's a fun little build and a fun little video, but ParryWeasel isn't done just yet. "I just started working on another Christmas-themed vid, so let's see if I can get you feeling even jollier," they told one commenter.

Others are doing their part as well. There's the in-game merchant who looks like Santa to begin with, as well as YouTuber Kidnapping the Time who beat Malenia while dressed as Santa without getting hit, all while level one. A true Christmas miracle.

Decorating sounds more like my speed though. I think I'll give that a try over fighting Malenia at such a disadvantage.
