PostsCharacters are organized in parties by organizing six characters, three in the front and three in the rear. Certain types and classes are effective in different classes. There are also four spaces for 'party members' that you can bring as attendants that don't apply to your configuration. Technically, they're in the group, but they don't count in your composition.
8 Early Game Teamwork
CloseFront Row
Garr, Yusuke, Iugo
Rear Row
Mellore, Francesca, Nowa
The best melee crew to get you through the early parts of the game is Nowa teaming up with the wolf warrior Garr and wandering samurai Iugo. Garr's physical prowess matches his compatibility with Nowa; together they can bulldoze through low-level enemies you'd face early on. Iugo, meanwhile, is great for dispatching tougher enemies that crowd with others.
Francesca makes a great balance between support and being a physical powerhouse. She pairs well with Yusuke in this respect. With Mellore in the mix, this party of heroes has a great set of frontline combatants with support and a formidable magic caster.
7 Slashing Daggers
CloseFront Row
Wayve, Barnard, Valentin
Rear Row
Kuroto, Yaelu, Prunella
Slashing daggers is a formation that consists of several formidable blade wielders. Wayve is the best point man in this position. Together with Bernard and Valentin, he can perform the Big Bro combo that attacks a single enemy with a heavy slash attack. The combo also increases your allies' action speed by three turns.
They are supported by the gunslinger Prunella, Yaelu's evasive support, and Kuroto's long-range crossbow techniques. Prunella and Kuroto can pick off any enemies out of range of Wayve and his dynamic trio.
6 Mid-Game Formation

Iugo, Sabine, Yusuke
Rear Row
Momo, Isha, Lam
Iugo and Yusuke come back as a great mid-game duo alongside Sabine, a formidable close-quarters fighter with a strong set of attacks. Together, the three of them make a great set of frontline attackers and can clear out all kinds of tough or agile enemies.

Due to their high compatibility, Valentin, Ivy, Seign, and Pohl work very well together in their respective roles. They can combine for attacks and skills, with Ivy and Pohl pairing up for the Magitek combo, which can deliver moderate smash damage to an entire enemy column. Seign can work alongside Valentin and Pohl to execute the Young Imperial Combo attack, which deals heavy plain damage to all enemies in the field.
Yaelu and Mihlu together can execute the Quiet Combo, which can cause heavy damage to one enemy. What works the best about this setup of heroes is how the synergies between the front liners and the rear support/range characters help you have an all-around effective party.
4 The Complete Heroes Party
CloseFront Row
Garoo, CJ, Seign
Rear Row
Isha, Nowa, Marisa
The main heroes of the story work brilliantly as a full-on unit. With skills like Sword Rain in the arsenal, Seign alongside Garoo and CJ are formidable frontline fighters. While Nowa has melee attacks as well, he has a longer range, being able to take the offensive from the rear row with Isha and Marisa, who are both powerful magic wielders.
When these characters are together, they can execute the Complete Heroes Combo. In this full-party attack, everyone targets one enemy for five attacks for severe plain damage. The entire party will also receive a boost to physical and magical attack power for three turns, enough time to finish what's left of the enemy formations.
3 End-Game Composition

Leon is blessed with incredibly high speed and magical affinity, which earns him several advantages in taking enemies down.
