- Several developers working on Fortnite have taken to Twitter to share their negative thoughts on the crossover.
Epic's choice to collaborate with Tesla and put Cybertrucks in Fortnite has been controversial with fans, but it turns out that even some Epic Games developers aren't happy about it.
Fortnite's Wrecked season has already been one of the more controversial and opinion-splitting updates the game has ever had thanks to its focus on cars, but that got a whole lot worse this month with the addition of Tesla's Cybertrucks. Considering Elon Musk's controversial and outspoken beliefs, fans really weren't happy to see one of his products join the game's already stacked lineup of crossovers.

PostsAs it turns out, though, Fortnite players aren't the only ones who aren't pleased with Epic's decision to shine a spotlight on Elon Musk and his Cybertrucks. Over the past few days, several Fortnite developers have made their feelings about the collaboration clear over on Twitter, and they're all about as negative as you'd expect.
Fortnite Developers Really Aren't Happy With The Tesla Crossover
One of the most recent comments comes from Fortnite UI artist Toby Sperring, who shared the Cybertruck trailer and said, "I did the quest UI art for this. While I'm proud of the work I and the team did, it's very disappointing we chose to collab with this product/ company". It's very clear that Sperring and his team didn't want to work on adding the strange-looking car to the game, but had no choice in the matter.
This sentiment was echoed by Fortnite Festival producer Kyle Wynn, who reminded players that they should vote with their wallets and that their reaction on social media is a "tangible factor" for Epic. Wynn also called out the Cybertruck as looking "f**king silly" before calling Elon Musk a "piece of s**t".
"Voting with your wallet works and sentiment on social media is a tangible factor."
Wynn and Sperring's responses are just the tip of the iceberg as Fortnite's executive producer, Robby Williams, also took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter. Before reminding players that his tweets represent his own opinions, Williams asked anyone who sees the Cybertruck to "Destroy on sight", before signing off a middle-finger emoji.
While I'm sure there are some other Fortnite collaborations that the developers are less enthused about, there's never been so much backlash and open disregard from Epic Games developers than there is for the Cybertruck. Here's hoping that Epic takes it into account for the next big crossover.
