Minotaur is one of the early game's toughest boss encounters. The regions connecting Vernworth with the Nameless Village and Harve Village are full of Cyclops, Ogres, and Minotaurs. This guide breaks down all the weaknesses of the Minotaur and how to beat easily.

How To Beat Minotaurs

The Minotaur wields a large-sized axe in his right hand and uses it in a couple of styles. He will slam the axe if the target is in front of it and occasionally does a swiping attack to hit multiple targets.

His charged attack is another common sight during this boss fight. The Minotaur will charge like a bull and can hit multiple targets before resting. You can use this opportunity to stand near a giant rock or a wall, bait the Minotaur into hitting you, and dodge away at the last moment.

This action will give you enough opportunity to dish out damage to the legs of the Minotaur and potentially make him fall flat on the ground.

Climbing on the head and dealing melee weapon damage is not recommended for the Minotaur boss fight. The Minotaur will immediately try to buck off your character and the thrashing will also hit the nearby party members.

You should only deal damage to the head when the Minotaur has fallen on the ground. Otherwise, the frenzied kicks of the boss can kill multiple party members quickly.

Minotaur Weakness

While most large-sized foes have the head as a weakness, the same is the case with the Minotaur. However, the Minotaur is an agile boss, swift in attacks and charges at its targets. These parameters make it hard to dish out damage to the head consistently.

The Minotaur is weak against the fire elemental damage. If you are using a Sorcerer class character or Mage vocation in the game, consider equipping a fire spell to deal damage. You can also use the fire spell to buff the weapon of a melee class character in the party as well.

The Minotaur's legs are another weak spot that you should consider dealing damage. The Thief, Warrior or Fighter class character can consistently deal damage to the legs. Enough damage to this part will tip off the balance of the Minotaur, giving you enough opportunity to deal damage to the head.
