The Magick Archer vocation, returning from the first game, remains powerful, effective, and incredibly enjoyable to play. In this guide, we'll delve into everything you need to know about the Magick Archer vocation, including its strengths, weaknesses, and skills.

The Magick Archer vocation is exclusive to the Arisen and cannot be used by their pawn.

Strengths And Weaknesses Of The Magick Archer Vocation

Strengths

The Magick Archer is an advanced vocation in the game that excels and dominates in long-range combat due to its wide array of offensive abilities. The ability to use elemental damage and inflict debilitations adds to its versatility.

Their homing arrows rarely miss targets, ensuring direct hits. Additionally, their capability to lock onto multiple enemies or specific parts of large monsters makes them exceptionally effective at dealing damage.

Unlike the Archer, precision aiming isn't necessary to hit targets, as the Magick Archer features an auto-targeting system that locks onto enemies within the aiming circle, making it easier to master and play with.

While they boast numerous offensive skills, what sets them apart is their ability to provide support to the party by sapping enemies' health and healing allies. One of the standout weapon skills of the Magick Archer is the ability to shoot a fully charged arrow to revive pawns from a distance. This skill is widely regarded as one of the best in the game.

With its blend of powerful offensive prowess and strategic support capabilities, the Magick Archer offers a versatile and enjoyable vocation. It ensures that you can defeat enemies effectively while keeping their pawns in top condition.

Weaknesses

Frankly speaking, there aren't many weaknesses to the Magick Archer vocation. As you've seen, they excel in offense and healing. They can target enemies effectively and even handle close combat pretty well.

The only slight challenge might be in close combat range, but they can still manage it quite effectively. Just remember to maintain distance, and even if you might face some difficulty in caves, their healing abilities make it manageable even there.

Magick Archer Weapon Skills

All of the Magick Archer's weapon skills revolve around utilizing various elemental damage to enhance their attacks. They strategically exploit enemy weaknesses and inflict debilitations to gain an advantage in combat.

Primarily designed for long-range engagements, these attacks range from offensive maneuvers to supportive abilities. Some skills even offer healing capabilities, with the ability to revive your pawns without having to reach them out.

  • The table below provides a breakdown of each:

Weapon Skill

Upgraded Weapon Skill

Effect

Bartizan

Fortalice

Erects a barrier around an ally, blocking incoming attacks and dealing damage to the attacker.

The stronger the attack received, the more powerful the counterattack unleashed.

Flamefang Arrow

Blazefang Arrow

Fires an arrow of magickal flame that explodes on impact.

Can control the arrow's trajectory after it is loosed.

Frostseeker Bolt

Frosthunter Bolt

Fires a bolt of magickal ice that pursues hostile targets of its own accord and can inflict frostbite.

Hailstone Bolt

Arctic Bolt

Fires a clump of ice that grows in size the longer it is charged and delivers a solid blow to foes it strikes.

Irradiant Orb

Candescent Orb

Fires an orb of searing flame that illuminates the area and may cause targets within to catch fire. Orb adheres to walls and hostile targets on contact.

Effect duration depends on charge time.

Remedy Arrow

Recovery Arrow

Looses an arrow blessed with magick that revives fallen pawns when fully charged.

If loosed too early, the arrow will instead restore the Health of any allies it strikes.

Ricochet Seeker

Ricochet Hunter

Looses a magickal arrow that flies wildly about, increasing in power as it ricochets off walls.

Effective in cramped quarters.

Sagittate Downpour

Sagittate Avalanche

Arrows can be concentrated on a single target or on a single point on a target.

Sedative Bolt

Soporific Bolt

Amount added increases the longer the bolt is charged, but as the sleep value is variable, firing multiple bolts is most effective.

Sparkchain Stake

If stakes land near to each other, crackling bolts spark between them, dealing damage to foes.

Vimtaking Arrow

Lifetaking Arrow

The more targets the arrow hits, the more Health will be recovered.

Magick Archer Core Skills

The Magick Archer employs two distinct bow techniques: Pinpoint Volley and Rivet Shot. Depending on whether you're facing multiple enemies or a single large monster, these techniques can be utilized differently to suit various situations.

Pinpoint Volley excels at targeting multiple enemies simultaneously, while Rivet Shot provides a more focused attack on a single target or its weak spots.

Core Skill

Effect

Conversion

Alteration ability affects the magickal arrows of the user. You have two choices:

  • Pinpoint Volley: This option enables the arrows to strike multiple targets or multiple points on a single target.
  • Rivet Shot: This choice allows the arrows to focus on attacking a single target or one specific point on a target.

Pinpoint Volley

This skill allows you to aim at multiple targets or multiple points on a single target before firing with precision.

You can use it while on the move.

Rivet Shot

This skill enables you to aim at a single target or a specific point on a target before firing with precision.

You can utilize it while moving.

Climactic Arrow

Enhances the damage dealt with Pinpoint Volley and Rivet Shot when released immediately after fully drawing the bow.

Scopic Sight

Extends the range at which you can lock onto targets when using Pinpoint Volley or Rivet Shot.

Tracker's Sight

Increases the maximum number of lock-on targets when using Pinpoint Volley or Rivet Shot.

Protracting Arrow

After using a fire, ice, or lightning weapon skill, that elemental effect is transferred to arrows fired with Quickfire, Pinpoint Volley, and Rivet Shot.

This effect remains active for a brief duration.

Quickfire

Launches a trio of magical arrows that scatter forward. It can be used while moving.

If used while clinging to or pinning down a target, it directly pierces the target with an arrow.
