In Dragon's Dogma 2, exploration is highly encouraged, and quests are not all clearly marked on the map like in most other RPGs. Instead, you'll need to actively engage with characters by interacting with them to discover if they have quests for you or need your assistance. Sometimes, as you explore the world, you may also be approached by NPCs who will offer you quests spontaneously.

A prime example of this gameplay approach can be found early in the capital city of Vernworth. Here, you'll encounter numerous characters whom you can interact with, potentially leading to them offering you quests. One notable instance is an elf you'll come across, who seems to be gazing at a shop with a troubled expression. It's a clear indication that he might be in need of help.

Once you've reached Vernworth, you'll have the opportunity to undertake the Gift Of The Bow quest. Your task is to locate a character named Glyndwr, who can be found in the Merchant Quarter near Roderick's Smithy. He's easily recognizable by his white hair and his bow, and he'll be standing near the store.

Approach Glyndwr and interact with him to begin the quest. He'll ask for your help in obtaining a bow crafted specifically by humans.

Fortunately, you don't need to venture far; you can simply purchase any bow from the Smithy shop right in front of you. Hand the bow to Glyndwr, and he'll then request you meet him at his training location. Accept his request, and your destination will be marked on your map.

Before you make your way to Glyndwr's next location, you'll need to change your Vocation to an Archer by simply visiting the Vocation Guild to do so.

If you've already chosen Archer as your starting vocation, you can proceed directly to the location.

Head northwest towards the Mountain Ruins, where Glyndwr will be waiting for you. Approach him, and he'll point out two hanging targets for practice. Your task is to hit both of them using your bow.

Doing so will complete this quest, and you will rewarded with 8500 G and the Ring of Proximity.

Additionally, completing this quest will unlock access to more quests from the Elvish as you progress through the game.
