The Ferrystone is a rare in-game resource that allows you to save time and fast travel, should you gather enough. You still need to place the Portcrystals in the towns or villages wherever you wish to visit frequently. But these Portcrystals do not work if you have no Ferrystone in the pocket. This guide lists all the methods to get the Ferrystones.

Opening Chests

The Ferrystone, being an in-game resource item, drops from opening the chest, just like most mid-to-high-level loot items. Whenever you see a chest while exploring the game's open world, try to reach and open it, as you do not want to sleep on the chances of receiving a Ferrystone for free.

Merchants And Wandering Merchants

Close

The mid to late-game main quests will ask you to visit Sacred Arbor, Bakbattahl, and Volcanic Island Camp. Some merchants in these areas will sell a Ferrystone item for 10,000 gold.

For example, Philbert's Sundries in Vernworth and Issac's Wares in Bakbattahl are two General Shops that sell the Ferrystones.

The merchants selling a Ferrystone can be fixed NPCs posted at General Shops or wandering merchants. To spot a wandering merchant, you only need to watch NPCs that carry larger-than-life-sized backpacks.

Buy From The Dragonforged

In the Bay Wayside Shrine location, you will come across The Dragonforged NPC, which sells three resources, one of which is the Ferrystones. You need three Wyrmslife Crystals (WLC) to buy the Ferrystones from this special vendor in the game.

A main quest will automatically lead you to The Dragonforged, but you can always visit the NPC of your own accord without the main quest. For this, you must illegally cross the border from Checkpoint Rest Town and then cross Bakbattahl to the Bay Wayside Shrine.

You can also come to the Dragonforged NPC from another route besides crossing the border. For this, cross the Guerco Cavern located southwest of the Harve Village, and once you are through it, you will need to cross a bridge.

Look to your left, and you'll a pathway that leads to a cave, where the Dragonforged NPC resides.

How To Use Ferrystones

Each Ferrystone item is a one-time resource used in the game. Whenever you want to fast travel from one town or village to another, go to a Portcrystal or portable Portcrystal and navigate to the Ferrystone item from your items inventory.

Select the "Use" item, and a fast travel menu will appear. When you finalize a location, a short animation will teleport you to the desired location after consuming a Ferrystone item.

The Ferrystone item must be used in large, wide-open areas. Using these in tiny spaces such as caves will fail the mechanics.
