With the forthcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero being all the rage among Dragon Ball fans and those who like anime video games, it's easy to forget about 2020's Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Released in January of that year, Kakarot took a different approach to the conventional anime fighting game.
Instead of having players jump from battle to battle in quick succession, Kakarot was an action role-playing game, where gamers had to level up Goku and co., farm resources and complete side quests, in addition to the main storyline.

Goku’s Next Journey might not end up being the final DLC for Kakarot, but it’s such a perfect way to end things that I can hope that it is.
PostsIt was a refreshing take on what has increasingly been a somewhat stale genre, and one that received several DLC packs following its release. That said, after February's release of the final portion of the second season pass, many assumed that the game was finished. However, Bandai Namco threw cold water on that possibility by affirming that it had further plans for Kakarot.
Now, it appears that those plans are starting to come into motion. That's because a routine game update actually contained a new side quest, one that might shed some light on where the game will be going next.
The Legendary Super Satan Certainly Means Something, Right?
As first spotted on the Kakarot subreddit, the game quietly added a new subequest titled "Legendary Super Satan." Satan, of course, is referring to Mr. Satan, or Hercule, depending on which version of the show you watched. It's a fairly simple side quest, one that sees Mr. Satan wanting to become a Super Saiyan like Gohan in order to gain the attention of his daughter. He even goes as far as to dye his hair blonde.
It's a cheeky quest that adds some extra gameplay, but its name might have further implications. That's because Broly is famously known as the Legendary Super Saiyan, at least in Dragon Ball Z. To this point, the DLC for Kakarot has covered the Battle of Gods and Resurrection 'F' movies, as well as the story of Goku's father, Bardock, the 23rd World Tournament, the History of Trunks TV special and finally the End of Z storyline.
Kakarot has essentially covered the entirety of the Dragon Ball Z storyline, and the only thing truly missing is Broly. Perhaps we're looking too deep into things, but it just seems a little odd that a random mission would come about, and it is specifically titled "Legendary Super Satan," which is a riff on the Legendary Super Saiyan moniker of Broly. That, combined with Bandai's pledge to support the game in the future, might mean they're hoping to get fans back into the game before announcing anything further. Only time will tell, but it's an interesting development nonetheless.
