Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's Story Mode Completely Skips The Tournament Of Destroyers

Summary
- Sparking Zero's story mode is massive and covers a lot of ground between Dragon Ball Z and Super.
- While the Tournament of Power gets a lot of love, the Tournament of Destroyers is completely absent from Episode Battles.
- The only bit of representation it gets is through a Tournament setting that features Beerus and Champa talking over your fights.
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's story mode completely misses out Super's Tournament of Destroyers, which famously gave us Goku fighting Hit and Cabba somehow standing his ground against Vegeta.
One of the best parts of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is its Episode Battle mode, which lets you choose between eight different characters and experience their story alongside some what-if scenarios. While some of them are fairly short, Goku, Vegeta, Frieza, and Gohan all get lengthy campaigns that cover their journey from Dragon Ball Z to Dragon Ball Super.

Like a request for Shenron, Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is pure wish-fulfilment and exactly what fans have spent a decade and a half waiting for.
Posts 1Although Dragon Ball Super is very well represented by the Tournament of Power (which shows up a lot), Sparking Zero strangely chooses to completely miss out on its second biggest arc - the Tournament of Destroyers that had Universe 7 going up against Universe 6 and giving Goku his first taste of a whole new world of powerful fighters.
Don't Expect Goku's Fight Against Hit In Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero
As you make your way through the Episode Battles, you might notice that the Super segments skip over the Tournament of Destroyers arc completely and go straight to Goku Black's saga and the Tournament of Power. It's not really clear why this is the case, but it's done in all of the Episode Battles that feature Super's story.
This is a little bit strange considering the Tournament of Destroyers is entirely focused on battles and has some true fan favourites, like Vegeta fighting Frost, Cabba going toe-to-toe with the Saiyan Prince, and, my personal favourite out of all of Dragon Ball Super, Goku unleashing his Super Saiyan Blue Kaioken against Hit.
Those moments are all loved by fans, but they're not in Sparking Zero in any shape or form. The Tournament of Destroyers arena also isn't a map in the game, which might play a part in why it wasn't included in the story mode. Without the map, it doesn't really make sense to do the fights, after all.
That being said, Sparking Zero does at least pay some respect to the Tournament of Destroyers. If you go into the Tournament menu, you'll notice that there's an option for the Tournament of Destroyers, which features Beerus and Champa talking over your battles. It still doesn't feature the map and isn't quite the same, but it's nice to see it get a little bit of attention.
Completing the Tournament of Destroyers also unlocks Frost, which is a nice touch.
