Here's a quick guide on how you can upgrade your tools in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

From how you frame your photo entry to what items you use to meet the requirements, every week will push you to use your creativity to capture the theme and display your Disney magic! Here are a few tips to help you take your photo submission to the next level.

Focus On The Theme

It seems like a given to meet the requirements of each Dreamsnaps Photo Challenge, but it's more complex than it appears at first glance. Each week has a different theme and challenge, whether it's a Decor Challenge or an Outfit Challenge. Focus on the theme first and look over the requirements so you can meet them.

Then, prioritize setting the stage. If you need to design an outfit, use accessories, backpacks, hats, and more to add points while giving you more freedom to focus your attention on the tops, bottoms, and shoes.

The most visible items should appeal to the theme rather than bring you points, though adding more points is never a bad thing.

With a Decor Challenge, you have more freedom to add dozens of items to the background. Using a room in your house is a good idea if you want contained chaos, but try to plan around the outdoors to make use of the lighting, Villagers, and natural elements.

If you can get characters in your photos that go along with the theme, all the better!

Try fencing them in if you need more time to prepare.

Add Suggested Items

Suggested items are your next priority. While not required, they will add additional points to your overall score. However, they can be tricky to add to an outfit, so try to mix and match pieces to get the best results.

With decor, the sky's the limit. Add items in a neat and orderly fashion or lavishly arrange them to take up all available space. Your image will likely only be seen by other players for a few seconds before they cast their vote, so you want to make sure you have enough to catch their eye right away.

Pick The Right Backdrop

Your background is where you'll have the most customization, and you should adhere to the prior tips. The theme should dictate what kind of background you're looking for, but the end result is up to you. If the theme involves tropical elements, take a photo at the beach after decorating it with appropriate items.

If you're having trouble finding the right background for your outfit, consider using a Villager's house or Realm as a backdrop. While not original, it can save you time and quickly convey the atmosphere you desire.

Utilize Camera Angles And Poses

Rather than exclusively take selfies, you can change camera modes to get better angles. The wide, full-body shot is useful, but the free camera mode is even better. This allows you to move the camera around, zoom out, and capture everything you want.

When taking a selfie, position your avatar to face your background so that when the free camera moves to the back, you have the right angle!

While you can't get extremely close-up angles, you can get creative with the environment to make a better photo. Posing with your companions can give you unique poses and add another exciting element to the picture.

You can also push the camera into different corners and crevices around the map to force a specific angle, though it doesn't always work.

If you can get characters into your photo, you can wait for them to begin striking a pose or perform an action. Catching them inmotion is a perfect way to make your photo more unique. Even better if you can catch whimsical elements like butterflies in your submission.

Use Filters Sparingly

While you have the option to use filters and frames, do so sparingly if at all. Many of the filters come off too strong and can make it difficult to see the subject of the photo.

Rather than use filters to get the desired lighting, you can use lamps and candles to provide ambient lighting. You can also adjust your graphics settings for the time of day to manually create golden hour for yourself.

Avoid using frames as well, as they only remove more visibility from the picture. Instead, crop your photo to keep it simple or arrange a natural-looking frame in the background with hedges.
