Like a lot of games in the life-sim genre, Disney Dreamlight Valley allows the collection of various crafting ingredients via activities like mining or gathering wood, and one of the most important you'll be doing is fishing.

Many recipes needed for quests require fish, and several characters might request fish as one of their favorite items of the day. You can fish in any water source in the Valley, but you can't get every fish that way – a lot of times, you'll need bubbling spots. Here's what bubbling spots are and what their different colors mean, so you can locate any fish you need.

What Are Bubbling Spots?

Bubbling spots are special fishing spots that appear randomly but regularly in the water sources within the Valley.

They mark where you can find rarer fish, and their color determines what rare fish you can get from them. They also guarantee you'll find a fish as opposed to getting Seaweed or Red Algae when fishing without one.

Common fish like Bass and Cod can appear in white rippling spots as well as without, but the majority of fish can only be caught within their color of bubbling spot.

White Bubbling Spots

White bubbling spots are the most common of the three types. You'll be able to find common fish in them, but you'll also be able to start fishing up some of the rarer (and more valuable) biome-specific fish in the game.

Blue Bubbling Spots

Blue bubbling spots are the next tier you can find and spawn uncommonly in the same places the other bubbling spots will. You can find the second-rarest group of fish in these spots, such as Bream and Carp.

Gold Bubbling Spots

Gold bubbling spots are where the rarest and most valuable group of fish can be found. Because of this, they'll spawn a lot less frequently than the other two colors, but some fish found it can net you up to 1,500 Star Coins per catch.

Each biome, outside of Dazzling Beach, has one fish that can only be found in gold bubbling spots.
