However, these characters often need help getting situated in their new lives. We'll help you welcome Timon and Pumbaa to your village so you can start befriending them and build meaningful connections with everyone in your valley.

Where To Find Pumbaa

After you learn how to relax with Pumbaa, you'll wake up the next morning to find that he's missing. Speak with Timon to start searching for your warthog friend.

You'll need to head all the way down to the oasis. Off to the side, you'll notice that Pumbaa is stuck inside a log.

After chasing a particularly juicy bug, he got wedged inside and can't get out on his own. Go figure.

Make your way back to Timon at the river to update him on the situation. Take your phone and snap a quick shot of Pumbaa's predicament, then show it to Timon.

Since this happens often, the meerkat is prepared to get Pumbaa out.

How To Make Slippery Bug Oil

To get Pumbaa out of the log, Timon needs you to collect different bugs to make some slippery oils. You'll need to break up three rocks around the river to gather these grubs:

  • Two Yellow Oily Bugs
  • One Blue Oily Bug
  • One Red Oily Bug

With all the bugs in your possession, head back to Timon for the next steps. Using color theory, you'll have to mash up the bugs to create a green potion and an orange potion. Combining those two potions will make the Super Slippery Bug Oil! Below is the recipe:

Potion Name

Recipe

Green Bug Oil

  • Blue Oily Bugs
  • Yellow Oily Bugs

Orange Bug Oil

  • Red Oily Bugs
  • Yellow Oily Bugs

Super Slippery Bug Oil

  • Green Bug Oil
  • Orange Bug Oil

Bring the oil to Timon and he'll apply it to your Royal Watering Can. Use the watering can on Pumbaa to loosen him up. Unfortunately, he's still stuck and you'll need additional help from the valley!

How To Craft The Reinforced Plunger

Head back to Dreamlight Valley and find Goofy. Ask him for help to receive an old plunger you'll need to reinforce. This should give you enough leverage to pull Pumbaa out, but the plunger needs to be enhanced first.

Gather the following materials to improve Goofy's plunger:

  • Iron Ingot (10)
  • Tourmaline (5)
  • Goofy's Old Plunger (1)
  • Rope (10)
  • Hardwood (15)

Head to your Crafting Station to reinforce the plunger, then take it to Pumbaa in The Lion King Realm. Use it to free Pumbaa, then speak with Timon at camp.

They're ready to come to the village, so head on back after their conversation. When you leave the Dreamlight Castle, Pumbaa will be the first to arrive. Speak with him to fetch Timon, then check in with the meerkat to wrap up the quest and get back to exploring the village at your leisure!
