Disney Dreamlight Valley: When Things Go Boom Quest Walkthrough

Eve has spent a considerable amount of time in Disney Dreamlight Valley on Eternity Isle, protecting the royal hourglass from those who would misuse it. Now that her original task is complete, she's having difficulty finding non-flammable hobbies. She wants to be like WALL-E, but gardening hasn't gone too well.

EVE has a strong sense of purpose and follows her directive seriously.
PostsShe's learned that she admires what WALL-E can do, but gardening is also not as satisfying as she thought it would be. She's looking for a hobby that's a little more exciting than watching grass grow. With some help from the other residents, you may find her the perfect hobby.
How To Get The 'When Things Go Boom' Quest
Eve's friendship quests are all connected to one main theme: helping her find a new directive. Eve needs a hobby to help her relax and keep her occupied.
To get this quest, you'll need to do the following:
- Have Eve at friendship level ten.
- Complete all other friendship quests for Eve.
- Unlock Stitch.
- Unlock the Lagoon.
- Costs 10,000 Mist.
- Unlock The Borderlands.
- Costs 10,000 Mist.
Once all the prerequisites have been met, you'll be able to see a quest marker above EVE's head. Talk to her to begin the quest.
If you're struggling to gather enough Mist, make sure to bring a time-bending buddy along when searching for Mist with the royal hourglass.
Talk To Stitch
EVE is bored with her previous attempts to find a new directive. She needs something a little more exciting, and you know Stitch is the perfect villager to consult about anything chaotic.
Stitch will give you an idea to help brighten EVE's spirits, and a whole new type of hobby that isn't like anyone else's. Stitch "borrowed" a recipe for making fireworks from Merlin, so he knows exactly what you'll need.
Stitch should show up on Eternity Isle, but if you can't find him you should also be able to access the quest by speaking to him in Dreamlight Valley.
Return to EVE to tell her the new plan: fireworks. What could possibly go wrong, right? It's your job to help collect materials.
How To Collect Dreamlight Cobra Lily Extract For Fireworks
Stitch will provide you with one of the ingredients for the fireworks and the recipe, but you'll have to obtain Dreamlight Cobra Lily extract and the other ingredients on your own.
To get the extract, you'll need to return to EVE's home near the docks and interact with the plant on her table. Once you have the extract, you can move on to the next step.
How To Cook The Experimental Fireworks
You can learn the recipe from the recipe book in your inventory, which will also free up an inventory slot. You'll still be able to access the recipe without going through that process, but you might as well save the space.
You'll make this recipe at a cooking station rather than the crafting table. Make sure you have the following ingredients before you start cooking:
- Dreamlight Cobra Lily Extract.
- One Cactus Powder.
- One Cinnamon.
- One Electric Eel.
- Fish in The Grasslands or The Promenade.
- One Coal Ore.
The recipe will be named Experimental Fireworks and will show up at the top of the All Recipes section, or under the Quest Recipes section. This can be cooked at any cooking station, including the one at the docks if it happens to be the nearest.
Once you cook the Experimental Fireworks, you can return to EVE.
How To Test The Experimental Fireworks
The time has come to test the Experimental Fireworks. To begin the testing, you'll need to talk to EVE again.
Be prepared to follow her to the designated safe spot to conduct the testing. If any fires occur, you'll be able to put them out with your royal watering can.
You'll need to talk to EVE after doing some damage control. She could use a little encouragement after her latest efforts.
After talking to EVE, you should talk to Stitch for ideas on how to make the fireworks less intense. He'll have a plan for you, along with an odd task.
Where To Find All Three Of Stitch's Socks
Stitch needs his socks back. There are three socks scattered throughout Eternity Isles, and stuck in time, so only the royal hourglass can reveal them.
While you find the missing socks, Stitch will consult with Merlin about how to make the fireworks more villager-friendly.
You'll find his socks in the following areas:
- The highest area in The Ruins.
- The Glittering Dunes near Gaston's original location.
- The Lagoon area near the water.
Once you've unearthed all three of Stitch's socks, you'll need to return them. Stitch should also have some helpful information from Merlin about the fireworks as well.
What Materials To Gather For Safer Fireworks
When you return the socks to Stitch, he tells you there are some additional materials that will need to be gathered for safer fireworks. You'll need Dream Shards, and Red Pitcher Plants.
Here are the exact quantities of each that you'll need:
- Ten Dream Shards
- Five Red Pitcher Plants
Once you've acquired the necessary materials, you'll need to give them to EVE.
How To Set Up The Fireworks Show
Just when you think your work is done, you realize you need to set up a place for a fireworks show. You're new to Eternity Isle, so there's not a comfortable spot for everyone yet.
You'll need to purchase or craft the following items:
- Three cute rugs.
- Six cute chairs.
- Four cute decorations.
Any items that fulfil the requirements will show up with an icon of EVE's head on them when you're in the crafting interface. If you're in the furniture placement interface, you can select EVE's icon at the top to look at items you already own that qualify.
Arrange these where you want, and talk to EVE when you're ready. You have the option to wait until evening so the fireworks will look their best.
You'll be the one to start the fireworks show by placing the firework launcher that EVE gives you. This will work just like adding any other decorations to Dreamlight Valley or Eternity Isle.
Once the fireworks show finishes and the quest wraps up, the firework launcher will disappear.
The firework show will begin immediately upon saving the location of the firework launcher. Be prepared to take pictures if you want to commemorate the occasion.
Rewards For When Things Go Boom
You'll receive a few rewards for your time and effort in helping EVE with her latest directive.
- Retro-tastic Jacket
- Retro-tastic Minidress
- 3,080 Experience
