Lord Zir is arguably the most efficient pinnacle boss to farm in Diablo 4.With the addition of Tormented variants to all pinnacle bosses in Season of the Infernal Hordes, Lord Zir's plentiful item drops and fairly easy mechanics make him the definite endgame boss to farm for Mythic Uniques. He also drops some build-enabling base Uniques for many classes.

PostsSo long as you have the necessary materials, there's no reason not to fight Lord Zir. Let's go over where you can find Zir, how to summon him, and give a brief overview of his mechanics. This boss' drop tables are also included.
How To Summon Lord Zir
CloseLord Zir is found in The Darkened Way dungeon in Kehjistan, located east of Kyovashad. Once inside, head to the lower floor and enter the Ancient's Seat lair instance. This is Lord Zir's personal chamber. Head to the end of the lair to find Zir's summoning altar.
As with all pinnacle bosses in Diablo 4, you'll need certain materials to summon this boss.
Difficulty
Cost
Rewards
Normal
Level 75
- 9 Exquisite Blood
- Any Unique from his drop table
- 1.5% chance of dropping a Mythic Unique
- Sandscorched Shackle
Tormented
Level 200
- 1 Stygian Stone
- 27 Exquisite Blood
- Drops five times as much loot
- ~7.5% chance of dropping a Mythic Unique
- 5 Sandscorched Shackles
Summoning this boss requires Exquisite Blood, a fairly common boss material that drops from Elite monsters, Treasure Goblins, Hellborne enemies within Helltide, and world events. If you want to take on Tormented Zir, a Level 200 variant, you'll need three times the Exquisite Blood and a spare Stygian Stone. You can find Stygian Stones in higher tiers of the Pit and the Infernal Hordes.
Tormented bosses drop quintuple the items of a standard pinnacle boss, making them more efficient to farm if you can handle the added difficulty. If you have Stygian Stones, this is always worth doing.

PostsLord Zir Boss Guide
Lord Zir tends to fight within melee range, but the arena will get progressively more chaotic as the fight continues. When the fight starts, Zir will attempt to hit you with his claws. The normal slash is fairly weak, but if you see Zir empower his hands with blood, dodge out of the way. The blood slash attack inflicts a debuff on Tormented difficulty, greatly increasing all incoming damage. Most builds can't survive past three stacks.
Every fifth of the boss' HP you remove will spawn a blood orb in the arena, an autonomous turret that spawns blood waves periodically. It doesn't deal much damage on its own, but the waves add another mechanic you need to avoid. Additionally, Zir will start to spawn blood pools in the arena. These will greatly slow your character's movement speed. Try to avoid them when possible.
CloseAt roughly 50% HP, Lord Zir will start to perform multiple AoE attacks that greatly reduce the visual clarity of the fight. He will start to channel a rectangular AoE attack that deals massive damage. Circle around the boss to avoid it. If Lord Zir starts to pulse with blood, every blood pool on the ground will spawn player-seeking projectiles, inflicting Vulnerable on hit.
This fight gets fairly chaotic at this stage, so try your best to stagger or outright kill Lord Zir before too many projectile spawn. The last 20% of his HP is the toughest, as you'll need to juggle multiple blood orbs and the puddles on the ground. If you're struggling to kill Zir, we highly recommend upgrading your character's damage before you attempt this fight again. The second half of this fight is much easier if you can melt the boss' HP.
