Diablo 4 is the most social entry in the franchise thus far, melding classic MMO systems with Diablo's iconic ARPG gameplay. Players will occasionally find others while patrolling the massive open world of Sanctuary or through various in-game events.

Most of these interactions are fleeting, but you can create your own community to play with through Diablo 4's clan system. This short guide will showcase how to find a group of like-minded players to game with, and we'll also give a quick tutorial on how you can make a clan of your own. Here is a complete guide to Diablo 4's clan system.
Creating And Joining Clans
CloseJoining a clan is straightforward. Open your map and select the Clan tab, then select the "Join a Clan" option. This menu will give you a few search options:
- Search by Name: Look up a specific clan you wish to join.
- Language: Sort through clans that speak your preferred language.
- Clan Tags: This will only show clans that have the tags you've selected, such as "Casual" or "PvP".
These settings should make it fairly easy to find a clan that suits your interests. In the event that you find a clan you don't mesh with, you can leave your clan at any time. You can do so from your clan's roster menu.
Creating A Clan
Making your own clan is also fairly easy, albeit slightly more involved than joining one. In the Clan tab, select the "Create a Clan" option. As with the joining menu, creating a clan has a few options:
- Clan Name: Create a name for your clan that hasn't already been taken. You cannot change your clan name once it's created.
- Clan Tag: Your clan's abbreviation that appears next to your character name.
- Clan Description: You can type anything you want in this text box for other recruits to read. It's best to fill this with a description of your clan.
- Language: Pick your clan's preferred language.
- Labels: Tag your clan with attributes that best fit your clan's culture. Up to five may be selected.
- Some examples include Casual, Hardcore, PvE, PvP, etc.
Assuming your clan's name hasn't been taken, you'll form a clan for other players to join. Your clan will be set to public by default, so anyone that looks up your clan will be able to see it. Clan owners can change this by opening the Clan menu and selecting the "Manage Clan" tab. In this menu, you can change your clan's description, visibility, labels, custom banner, information about the clan, and your clan's message of the day.
Clan leaders can also promote members to Officers, granting them elevated privileges. Officers can change clan information, message of the day prompts, and clan labels. Any member of the clan can also join dedicated clan text and voice channels, allowing members to coordinate groups or socialize with one another.
