After a lengthy wait, players can now quickly swap between builds in Diablo 4 through the new Armory system. Each town has a new vendor that you can use to save and modify your favorite builds. Save your current skills, passive points, and equipment to an Armory loadout, and you'll be able to switch between builds with the push of a button.

If you tend to play a single character for a long period of time, creating multiple loadouts for them is a great way to experiment with new builds without having to deal with inventory bloat or monotonous Paragon respeccing. In this short guide, we go over how the Armory system works in Diablo 4 and how to use it.

How To Use The Armory

Close

You can find an Armory at every major hub town in Diablo 4, marked on your map with an eye icon. Interacting with the armory will bring up a menu where you can save up to five different builds for your character. The armory will save the following:

  • Your skill tree.
  • Paragon boards and allocated points.
  • Equipment.
    • Does not include cosmetics.
  • Your current ability hotbar.

Changing your loadout is completely free. All gold respec costs were removed in Season 7.

Once you've saved a few loadouts, you can quickly swap between them at any Armory station in town. Saving a loadout will tag all equipped items as favorites to prevent them from being accidentally deleted. If you delete an item saved to a loadout, that slot will remain empty when you swap to that build. For example, if you deleted your main weapon and swapped to a loadout that used your now-deleted armament, you'll be left with your current weapon instead.

You may have up to five loadouts at a time, all of which can be changed, renamed, or deleted as you see fit. Loadouts also save skill modifiers and Paragon boards, so you can be rather flexible with what loadouts you save. You don't need five wildly different builds to use the Armory effectively. Consider saving variants of your favorite builds better suited for certain endgame activities, such as pinnacle boss fights or high-tier Pit runs.

Loadout Items

Items tied to a loadout will have a special icon on the bottom-right of their inventory icon. Check for this item before you start clearing out your inventory or stash.
