The second week of Destiny 2's Season of Defiance is here, releasing ten new Seasonal Challenges for Guardians to complete. Each challenge grants a large chunk of XP that progresses the seasonal Artifact and Season Pass.

More importantly, these challenges grant upgrade currency for the H.E.L.M.'s War Table and large sums of Bright Dust. If you want to fully upgrade the War Table this season, you'll want to complete at least a few of this week's challenges. This guide will cover how to complete all ten of this week's challenges as quickly as possible, showcasing rewards and useful farming tips.

Against The Shadows

Against the Shadows: Complete Week 2 of the "We Stand Unbroken" quest.

Rewards

  • War Table Upgrade
  • 25,000 XP

So long as you completed the first week of 'We Stand Unbroken,' visit the H.E.L.M. to start the second series of quest steps. The quest itself is quite simple, requiring you to complete a Defiant Battleground before speaking to various NPCs to progress the seasonal storyline. Complete the second set of objectives to finish this challenge.

Favored Liberator

Favored Liberator: Generate Favors in Seasonal activities. All members of your current fireteam contribute to overall progress.

Rewards

  • War Table Upgrade
  • 12,500 XP

This challenge is retroactive.

This challenge requires your fireteam to generate 30 Favors in Defiant Battlegrounds or the Avalon Exotic mission. Favors are unlocked from the War Table's seasonal upgrade grid. The Favors themselves are generated by getting melee, grenade, or Heavy weapon final blows. The more seasonal armor you have equipped, the more likely you'll generate a Favor.

We recommend unlocking 'Exemplar of Justice' and using a melee build to get this done quickly. This Favor spawns when you land powered melee kills, something that's quite easy to trigger with the right build.

  • Hunter: Use Arcstrider's Combination Blow ability.
  • Warlock: Use Broodweaver's Arcane Needle ability or Dawnblade's Incinerator Snap.
  • Titan: Use Sunbreaker's Throwing Hammer ability.

Rohan's Legacy

Rohan's Legacy: Complete the quest "Unfinished Business." Also, defeat combatants throughout Neomuna with precision final blows. Bonus progress awarded for using Machine Guns.

Reward

  • 50,000 XP

The first half of this challenge is retroactive.

'Unfinished Business' is the quest tied to Deterministic Chaos, an Exotic Machine Gun that becomes available upon beating the Lightfall campaign. Speak to Nimbus after you complete the Lightfall campaign to start the quest.

The second half of this quest requires you to land 50 precision final blows on Neomuna. Machine Guns grant additional progress, so we recommend using a slow-firing Machine Gun to get this done quickly. Bows are also a great pick since they deal high base damage.

The Full Set

The Full Set: In Neomuna, collect and place four action figures.

Reward

  • 25,000 XP

This challenge is retroactive.

As with Europa's penguins and the Throne World's moths, Neomuna has collectible action figures scattered across the destination. Each week, two action figures will become obtainable. You must find four action figures to finish this challenge. Neomuna has nine in total.

We'll have a guide on all action figure locations once all nine are obtainable. If you want to get this challenge done now, we recommend watching 360GameTV's video walkthrough on all currently available action figure locations.

Cosmodrome Activities

Cosmodrome Activities: In the Cosmodrome, earn progress by completing bounties, patrols, public events, and Lost Sectors.

Rewards

  • 25,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

As wtih last week's Neomuna Activities challenge, you'll need to complete activities on the Cosmodrome to get this done. Farming bounties and Lost Sectors is the fastest way of finishing this challenge. Visit Shaw Han, buy his bounties, then visit the Exodus Garden 2A Lost Sector to farm some easy kills. A few Lost Sectors clears should finish this challenge.

Lost In The Legend

Lost in the Legend: Complete a Lost Sector on Legend or higher.

Rewards

  • 25,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

We highly recommend waiting until later this season to finish this challenge. Bungie overhauled the difficulty curve of Destiny 2 this season, causing all Legend Lost Sectors to have a Power requirement of 1,830. This is 20 over the Pinnacle cap, a big ask for players that casually play the game. Get your Power level to at least 1,800 before attempting this, 1,810 if possible.

As for getting your Power level into the Powerful and Pinnacle ranges, give our Power leveling guide a look. We cover all Pinnacle gear sources and explain how to level as quickly as possible.

Flourish Of Power

Flourish of Power: Defeat Guardians in the Mayhem playlist with Super abilities.

Rewards

  • 25,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Eliminate 25 Guardians with your Super in the Mayhem playlist to finish this challenge. You'll typically find greater success with one-and-done Supers like Blade Barrage, Needlestorm, and Thundercrash. Don't take Mayhem matches too seriously, pop your Super the second its up, and grab any Orbs of Power lying around.

Bank, Kill, Repeat

Bank, Kill, Repeat: Earn points by banking Motes, defeating Blockers, and defeating Guardians in Gambit.

Rewards

  • 25,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Bank, Kill, Repeat requires you to earn 250 points by completing Gambit objectives. Banking Motes, killing Blockers, and eliminating Guardians all count here. We highly recommend killing Blockers whenever possible to get this done quickly. Blockers are worth a ton of points and are fairly easy to kill. Bank your Motes whenever possible, and you should have this challenge finished in a few matches.

Hive Slayer

Hive Slayer: Defeat Hive combatants in Vanguard playlists or strikes. Earn bonus progress for defeating tougher combatants.

Rewards

  • 25,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Eliminate 200 Hive enemies in Vanguard Ops or Nightfalls to finish this challenge. Majors and bosses grant more progress. We recommend running Lightblade, Scarlet Keep, or the Mars Battleground to get this done quickly.

Close-Range Calibration

Close-Range Calibration: Calibrate close-range weapons—Sidearms, Submachine Guns, Shotguns, Glaives, and Swords—in the Cosmodrome. Bonus progress for rapidly defeating combatants.

Rewards

  • 25,000 XP
  • 75 Bright Dust

Equip your favorite close-range weapon and farm your favorite Lost Sector. This challenge requires 200 kills with CQC weapons. We find SMGs and Glaives to be the best weapons for PvE content, although you can use any weapon listed in the challenge's description.

As for kills, you can farm Shuro Chi in Last Wish, the K1 Revelation Lost Sector on the Moon, the Extraction Lost Sector in Savathun's Thorne World, or the Termianl Override activity on Neomuna.
