Destiny 2's Ghosts of the Deep dungeon is one of the game's most difficult endgame activities yet. Hive Guardians have infiltrated the depths of Titan to resurrect an old foe, and it's up to your Guardian to stop them. If successful, you'll be awarded with some excellent weapons and stunning armor.

Those that go above and beyond can also earn the Ghoul title, one of Destiny 2's many prestigious endgame pursuits. If you don't mind soloing dungeons or beating Master content, earning the Ghoul title might be right up your alley. This guide will showcase how to complete all ten Triumphs tied to the Ghoul title, providing tips and strategies for each.

Arise

Arise: Complete the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon.

As with any dungeon title, you'll need to complete the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon. This particular Triumph doesn't have any conditions tied to it, although later Triumphs tied to the Ghoul title will require you to complete it solo, on Master, and with certain subclasses.

If you've yet to clear this dungeon, give our Ghosts of the Deep dungeon guide a look. We highly recommend completing the dungeon at least once before attempting the other Triumphs.

Alone In The Deep

Alone in the Deep: Complete all the encounters in the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon solo without leaving the activity.

This Triumph requires you to complete the entire dungeon, start to finish, by yourself without leaving the activity. The challenge immediately fails if anyone joins your fireteam or if you return to orbit. With that said, this does not have to be a flawless run; deaths don't void Triumph completion.

Since Ghosts of the Deep features rather tanky bosses, you'll want to attempt this dungeon with a good build and high DPS weapons. Strategies can be found below.

Weapons

Legend of Acrius

Perfect for the Ecthar boss fight.

Arbalest

Instantly breaks Simmumah's shields.

Linear Fusion Rifles

Cataclysmic and Briar's Contempt are ideal for Simmumah.

Both bosses in Ghosts of the Deep are incredibly tanky and comparable to raid bosses, so you'll need to bring some top-tier weapons. For Ecthar, use Legend of Acrius. This gun pairs exceptionally well with melee builds and deals immense damage per shot, especially if you own the Catalyst.

For Simmumah, use Arbalest with a Linear Fusion Rifle. Arbalest instantly breaks their shield, letting you swap to your Linear for sustain DPS. Cataclysmic with Bait and Switch works best here, although you might want to consider Briar's Contempt since the weapon's origin trait, Harmonic Resonance, causes the gun to deal bonus damage to the Hive Guardians and final boss.

Builds

Hunter

Arcstrider for the first two encounters

Nightstalker for the Simmumah boss

Titan

Sunbreaker for all encounters

Warlock

Dawnblade for all encounters

Hunters will want to use Arcstrider for the first two encounters. Use Lethal Current and Flow State to annihilate every enemy with powerful Combination Blow punches, destroying moths with your Primary or Special of choice. Bring Assassin's Cowl for survivability and Liar's Handshake for the Ecthar fight. Against Simmumah, you'll want to switch to Nightstalker for the Shadowshot debuff and ample access to invisibility. Play more conservatively during the last encounter, and you should beat the dungeon in a few tries.

Titans can use Sunbreaker for the entire dungeon with little issue. Spec for Throwing Hammers by using the Roaring Flames and Sol Invictus Aspects, giving you a devastating melee attack after landing a few kills. Equip Synthoceps to further boost your damage. Simmumah tends to float away from you during their damage phase, so be sure you bring a good Linear Fusion Rifle as a backup DPS option.

Warlocks can make virtually any subclass work, but we're going to recommend Dawnblade for one reason: Well of Radiance. This Super makes the Ecthar and Simmumah damage phases far safer. Between using Well of Radiance, you can rely on x2 Restoration provided by Phoenix Dive while Heat Rises is active. Sunbracers pairs exceptionally well with this setup, allowing you to carpet bomb your foes with a flurry of Solar Grenades.

The Trinity

The Trinity: Complete all encounters in the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon with a full fireteam of clanmates.

The Trinity is a straightforward Triumph. You'll need to complete every encounter with a full fireteam of clanmates. You'll need a three-player squad, all of which must be part of the same clan, to finish this Triumph. If your clan is currently inactive, you can look for new clans to join on the Bungie.net forums.

Shock Rise

Shock Rise: Complete all encounters in the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon with a full fireteam of Arc subclasses.

The Ghoul title requires you to complete every encounter with the core Light subclasses—Arc, Solar, and Void. Shock Rise specifically asks you to use an Arc subclass. Here's what we recommend:

  • Hunter: Use the Lethal Current and Flow State Aspects. Pair this setup with Assassin's Cowl (survivability) or Liar's Handshake (boss DPS).
  • Titan: Use Knockout with Touch of Thunder. For your Exotic, run Heart of Inmost Light for frequent ability uptime.
  • Warlock: Use Arc Soul and Electrostatic Mind. Deploy a Rift whenever possible to give your fireteam an Arc Soul, an excellent way to clear adds and deal some chip damage to bosses.
    • Exotics are down to preference. Fallen Sunstar is a great pick for supportive playstyles.

Fire Hazard

Fire Hazard: Complete all encounters in the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon with a full fireteam of Solar subclasses.

Fire Hazard requires you to use a Solar subclass on every encounter in Ghosts of the Deep. These encounter clears are counted across multiple runs and don't have to be on the same character. As for subclass builds:

  • Hunter: Use Knock 'Em Down with any other Aspect. Bring Young Ahamkara's Spine for a grenade spam build. Alternatively, use Star-Eater Scales to greatly boost the damage of Golden Gun or Blade Barrage.
  • Titan: Use Roaring Flames and Sol Invictus. Pair these Aspects with Synthoceps to greatly boost the damage of Throwing Hammer and your Super. You can further boost this damage with a One-Two Punch Shotgun and Tractor Cannon.
  • Warlock: Use Heat Rises and Touch of Flame. You can use Sunbracers or Starfire Protocol to create a powerful grenade build.

Abyssal Void

Abyssal Void: Complete all encounters in the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon with a full fireteam of Void subclasses.

Abyssal Void requires you to beat all encounters of this dungeon with a Void subclass. For build recommendations:

  • Hunter: Stylish Executioner and Vanishing Step are great Aspects to pair with Gyrfalcon's Hauberk. Dodge to go invisible, fire your weapon, then land a kill while Volatile Rounds is active to go invisible again. Rinse and repeat.
  • Titan: Bastion and Offensive Bulwark are solid Aspects for general survivability and ability uptime. You can use Heart of Inmost Light for even shorter cooldowns or No Backup Plans to buff Shotgun damage.
  • Warlock: Child of the Old Gods and Feed the Void are great Aspects for Voidwalker. Land an ability kill to trigger Devour, then keep killing enemies to fully refresh your HP. Child of the Old Gods gives you an easy way of inflicting Weaken on tougher foes.

One Of A Kind

One of a Kind: Complete all encounters in the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon with a full fireteam of the same class.

This particular Triumph requires you to beat every encounter with a fireteam of the same class. The subclasses each player brings has no bearing on Triumph progress; bring any build you enjoy. For most players, we recommend bringing Warlocks since they have access to Well of Radiance, Bleak Watcher turrets, Arc Souls, and an incredibly powerful Strand crowd control build.

Sovereign

Sovereign: Complete the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon on Master difficulty.

The Master variant of Ghosts of the Deep features is slightly harder than the Normal variant. Compared to the standard difficulty, Master features added Champions, Surges, Threats, and a -20 Power Delta—comparable to day one raids. Champions include Unstoppable and Barrier variants.

Thanks to some changes in Lightfall, Master difficulty also comes with some buffs to your character. Surges and Overcharge buff your damage by 25%, allowing you to nearly offset the massive Power restriction. Any weapons with Anti-Champion properties added through your seasonal Artifact will count as Overcharged, giving you a surprising number of loadout options. A good fireteam with cohesive builds should have little issue beating this dungeon on Master.

In Memoriam

In Memoriam: Find and listen to each memory of Darkness throughout the "Ghosts of the Deep" dungeon.

In Memoriam requires you to collect 12 memory fragments throughout the dungeon. Most of these memories are found during jumping puzzles or after beating an encounter. Since these fragments tend to be quite hidden, we recommend following YouTuber 360GameTV's collectible walkthrough that showcases every location in order. Listen to all 12 memories to finish this Triumph.

Ghosts Of The Deep

Ghosts of the Deep: Complete the "Ghosts of the Deep" badge.

You can view badge progress from your Collections tab of the inventory menu. Badges can be seen on the bottom-right of the Collections landing page.

The final Triumph is tied to this dungeon's badge rather than a particular challenge. In essence, you must acquire every item from this dungeon to complete the Ghosts of the Deep badge. There are 11 items in total. You do not need The Navigator Exotic for this badge.
