Destiny 2: The Final Shape has added dozens of new weapons to the sandbox, including some fan-favorite reprisals. Weapons like Better Devils, Hush, and Crimil's Dagger are back and better than ever. Outside of a few outliers, nearly every weapon added in The Final Shape is worth farming for. Even the world drops this expansion are solid.

In this guide, we'll be going over the best rolls you can earn from all the playlist activity weapons. This includes guns from Vanguard Ops, Crucible, Gambit, Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, and weapons found in the world. Use the table of contents above to jump to any weapons that interest you.

Adverse Possession IX

How to obtain: World drop.

Simply put, Adverse Possession IX is not worth farming for. It has mediocre stats, lacks interesting perk combinations, and is a major downgrade over most 180 Scouts that have been released over the past two years. Your best bet is Overflow and Frenzy for a decent PvE workhorse, but that just doesn't cut it when Hung Jury exists.

Aisha's Care

How to obtain: Trials of Osiris matches and engrams.

Heavy Bursts are a new archetype for Pulse Rifles introduced in Final Shape, and Aisha's Care is clearly tailored towards PvP use. Unfortunately, this archetype in general just isn't' suited for PvP gameplay due to its fairly lengthy 0.8s TTK. You'll get eaten alive by High-Impact Pusle Rifles and CQC weapons, but that doesn't mean Aisha's Care is a complete dud.

Zen Moment and Desperado can put in some serious work here. Zen Moment will drastically reduce all incoming flinch, making it easy to land headshots at longer distances. That precision kill will then proc Desperado, allowing you to hit a more reasonable 0.67s TTK. Raw damage perks don't move the needle on this gun's TTK, so Desperado is your only real option. If you want a good dueling weapon, just use Messenger or Elsie's Rifle instead.

Better Devils

How to obtain: Crucible matches and engrams.

Better Devils is a 140 Hand Cannon that was last seen in the Forsaken era, and before that, the launch of Destiny 2. Lord Shaxx has given this weapon a new perk pool, infused it with Strand damage, and brought it back as a new PvP reward. Any Strand build looking for an Adaptive Hand Cannon can rock Slice with Hatchling on this weapon, but that's far from everything Better Devils now offers.

Demolitionist and Frenzy is great as a PvE workhorse. Rapid Hit and One for All has great scaling in endgame content. You can even run Reconstruction and Explosive Payload to stun Champions in Nightfalls. It's a versatile weapon, if a bit weak when compared to other Hand Cannons in the sandbox.

Crucible players are better off using another Hand Cannon, as this weapon's stat package has been completely powercrept. The gun lacks perks like Slideshot, Zen Moment, and Eye of the Storm. Your best bet is to farm for Perfect Float and Elemental Capacitor. It's a strange roll, but it makes Better Devils a fantastic weapon for aerial gameplay, a niche that few Hand Cannons can fill.

Claws Of The Wolf

How to obtain: Iron Banner matches and engrams.

It's been nearly half a decade, but Claws of the Wolf has finally returned to the Iron Banner loot pool with The Final Shape. Most players ran this weapon with Snapshot Sights and Kill Clip back in the day to melt enemies with a lightning-fast TTK. That same combination exists to stay and remains the best PvP roll on this gun. You can run Headseeker in place of Snapshot Sights if you prefer, but the low handling speed might be a deal-breaker for some.

As for PvE, you can run Repulsor Brace with either Destabilizing Rounds or Kill Clip for a solid workhorse weapon. Far better Primary weapons exist in today's sandbox, but Claws of the Wolf isn't a bad option for someone who needs a Void Pulse Rifle in their arsenal.

Controlling Vision

How to obtain: World drop.

Yet another returning weapon, Controlling Vision is a 300 RPM Sidearm that was last seen in the Red War era. It's the first Sidearm to roll with High Ground, a damage perk that activates on kills and while you're on elevated terrain. It's a sizable 20% buff, which drops the gun's TTK to a blazing 0.6s in the Crucible.

You can pair this with Discord for more range or Surplus for a hefty boost to all of your other stats. Air Assault is also an option, but we don't recommend it since High Ground doesn't work while you're airborne. PvE players should look elsewhere for their Sidearm needs, but if you're a PvP main who loves Sidearms, give this weapon a try.

Crimil's Dagger

How to obtain: Iron Banner matches and engrams.

There was a short period during Beyond Light where Crimil's Dagger dominated the PvP sandbox since it could two-tap Guardians with a damage perk. This reprised variant of Crimil's Dagger can technically still two tap thanks to Kill Clip, but it only works up to T5 Resilience. Without surges, the two-taps won't feel consistent.

Adagio on this weapon can two-tap up to T9 Resilience. It's not a bad option if you can pair it with another damage perk.

Fortunately, Crimil's isn't a one-trick pony. Precision Instrument is arguably the new chase perk on this gun, as it allows you to ignore Void Overshields and many other DR mechanics just by landing headshots. Slideways isn't a bad pairing, neither is Outlaw. PvP players should definitely keep an eye on this gun. PvE players have better options to work with.

The Domino

How to obtain: World drop.

The Domino is this game's supermarket brand Sniper Rifle. It's unassuming, has a bland perk pool, and lacks character. Shoot to Loot paired with Incandescent is the best combination you can get here, and that's not even a unique combination to this weapon. PvP players don't have it much better with Slideways and Opening Shot. The Banal would have been a better name.

Hush

How to obtain: Gambit matches and engrams.

We know this weapon comes from Gambit, arguably the least-popular playlist in Destiny 2, but Hush is so strong that it's absolutely worth farming for. It's one of two weapons that can get Archer's Gambit, a much stronger version of Archer's Tempo that procs off hipfire headshots. It's twice as powerful as Archer's Tempo, reducing the drawtime to under 300ms. Throw on Archer's Tempo, and you can knock an arrow in a fifth of a second. Two-taps in PvP have never been easier.

Preaim your arrow, then fire right as you stop aiming to proc Archer's Gambit. This allows you to easily activate it without needing to fire from the hip.

If Archer's Gambit isn't your cup of tea, you can run Shoot to Loot and Incandescent instead. All Final Shape weapons can be enhanced, including playlist weapons like Hush, so you can enhance Incandescent for some devastating Ignitions in endgame PvE content. Even if you dislike Gambit, consider farming for Hush whenever your ritual Pathfinder nudges you in the Drifter's direction.

Maahes HC4

How to obtain: World drop.

Maahes HC4 is the first Void Hand Cannon in the Heavy Burst archetype, firing two shots per trigger pull. It has a surprisingly good perk pool for a world drop weapon. Unrelenting with Frenzy is fantastic for most PvE content. Repulsor Brace with Golden Tricorn hits like a truck on Void builds. You can even run Repulsor Brace with Destabilizing Rounds to gain Void Overshields on any build.

Burst Hand Cannons aren't ideal for PvP, but you can make it work. Rapid Hit and Swashbuckler can make this weapon two-burst if you get three stacks of Swashbuckler, which is easy to achieve with a melee build. Keep your eyes peeled for a good roll of this weapon.

Origin Story

How to obtain: Vanguard Ops.

Veterans of the Red War will remember Origin Story as the first weapon they ever fired in Destiny 2. It's been brought back multiple times now as Horror Story for the yearly Festival of the Lost event, but this is the first time Origin Story itself has seen a facelift. It's a Kinetic 450 RPM Auto Rifle that comes with Nadir Focus, an S-tier origin trait for the Crucible. Sustained fire buffs the weapon's accuracy and range, acting as a miniature version of Dynamic Sway Reduction.

For PvE, there are tons of great combinations here. Feeding Frenzy with Onslaught for general add clear, Strategist with Pugilist for ability spam, or even Keep Away with Kinetic Tremors. There are no shortage of good options here.

Crucible players are targeting a much simpler roll: Zen Moment with Target Lock. Zen Moment makes you virtually immune to flinch once you land a few shots, and Target Lock lowers the headshot requirement for Origin Story's optimal TTK.

The Riposte

How to obtain: Competitive Crucible reward.

The Riposte is the first Lightweight Auto Rifle we've gotten since Jiangshi AR1, a green item back in vanilla Destiny 2. Lightweight Frames are effectively 600 RPM Auto Rifles that have the Lightweight movement bonus, granting a passive +20 Mobility and 6.25% increased sprint speed while equipped.

As a Competitive PvP reward, it should come as no surprise that it's a great PvP weapon. Zen Moment and Target Lock make this weapon a dueling powerhouse, mitigating incoming flinch while reducing the weapon's optimal TTK to 0.75s. If you prefer to play 6v6 modes, you might prefer Kill Clip over Target Lock. As for PvE, Enlightened Action with Kill Clip is a decent roll, but we don't recommend farming Competitive PvP solely for this AR.

Scintillation

How to obtain: Nightfall reward (rotates weekly).

Linear Fusion Rifles aren't great right now, but in the event Bungie gives them a much-needed buff, you'll want a good roll of Scintillation in your Vault. The chase here is Rewind Rounds with Bait and Switch. Shots from the burst will proc Rewind Rounds, giving you more opportunities to partially refill the magazine with Veist Stinger. Paired with Bait and Switch's 30% damage bonus, you'll have a great Strand LFR for endgame PvE content.

Shadow Price has a good perk pool this time. Overflow with One for All can handle just about every PvE activity. If you prefer more AoE-centric perks, Voltshot can now roll in the final column. Pair it with Surplus or Stats for All to increase your reload speed, and you'll have a fantastic Auto Rifle for slaying adds.

Crucible players can safely skip this weapon. If you're looking for a good Precision AR, you're better off using Prosecutor or Positive Outlook.

Shayura's Wrath

How to obtain: Trials of Osiris matches and engrams.

Arguably the most overpowered SMG in PvP history is back this season, and Bungie decided to give it an even stronger perk pool. Shayura's Wrath took the sandbox by storm years ago with Killing Wind and Kill Clip, allowing this weapon to down Guardians from 25+ meters with a rapid 0.6s TTK. That still holds true today, and it's just as good as before.

Shayura's Wrath can actually hang as a dueling SMG thanks to its new perk pool. Zen Moment with Target Lock is a monstrous combination on a 600RPM, and it can be fully enhanced thanks to Final Shape's crafting changes. If you want a strong backup primary, you can even run Discord with Cascade Point to delete anything on the other side of your barrel.

PvE players shouldn't farm Trials specifically for this weapon, but it's not a bad SMG to focus spare engrams on. Repuslor Brace and Kill Clip will work just fine in most activities, although it won't dethrone current SMG greats like Imminence or Unforgiven.

If you never farmed for a good Reed's Regret or Scintillation back in the day, keep your eyes peeled for a good Suspectum roll. It's the only Stasis LFR with Envious Assassin and Firing Line, making it a solid DPS option in endgame content with Stasis Surges active. LFRs generally aren't the top dogs of damage, but they can get the job done if explosive weapons can't do the trick.

Bungie dropped the ball on this reissue. Truthteller can no longer roll with Auto-Loading Holster, so it's no longer an ideal Special weapon for PvP blinting—the act of firing a GL and quickly swapping to a Primary for a cleanup. And for PvE, it's a Lightweight Frame. You're not going to use a Lightweight Frame in PvE. Skip this weapon. There's nothing worth farming for on this gun.

Yarovit MG4

How to obtain: World drop.

While farming content in Destiny 2, you might occasionally get a Yarovit roll. In the event you do, keep your eyes peeled for Rewind Rounds paired with either Surrounded or Headstone. Rewind Rounds is a fantastic perk on SMGs and pairs nicely with a damage perk, especially when enhanced. It's not quite as strong as Imminence or Exotic SMGs, but for a world drop, Yarovit is quite solid.

Crucible players with good aim can dominate with Dynamic Sway Reduction and Zen Moment. After you land a few shots, this weapon effectively has no recoil and a tight accuracy cone. Landing headshots is trivial once both perks are active. Take it for a spin if you're lucky enough to get this to drop.
