Destiny 2's focus on buildcrafting has placed a major emphasis on monochromatic builds in recent months. Bungie wants players to use the same element type for their subclass and weapons, even in Match Game content. Thankfully, that's fairly easy to do with Void.

Void 3.0 has plenty of Fragments worth using. Which one is the best?
PostsVoid 3.0 subclasses are incredibly strong and can hold their own in the endgame, but what about Void weapons? Most Void weapons in Destiny 2 are quite strong, with some weapons shaping the entire PvE meta. This list will go over the ten best Void weapons you can use in Destiny 2, pairing nicely with Void's various keyword buffs and debuffs.
Updated January 25, 2025, by Charles Burgar: Bungie has added quite a few S-tier Void weapons to the sandbox over the last year. We've updated this list to include some of the best Void weapons added recently, including the likes of Edge Transit, Buried Bloodline, and Elsie's Rifle.
This list focuses on PvE content above everything else. Entries are in no particular order.
10 Edge Transit
How to obtain: Onslaught playlist.
Edge Transit might have received the greatest redemption arc we've seen from a Destiny weapon. This was easily the worst Heavy weapon back in the Forsaken era, partially because it was so common, but Bungie gave it a complete makeover in Onslaught's Brave reissue. Now, it's easily the best Adaptive GL in the game.
That's mostly thanks to its new perk pool. Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch allow you to overflow the magazine with 20 high-damage grenades, obliterating most bosses in burst DPS phases. If you need to kill an enemy immediately, then you can look into Cascade Point and Explosive Light instead, giving you one of the highest burst DPS values in the game.
Recommended Traits
- Column One: Envious Assassin, Cascade Point
- Column Two: Bait and Switch, Explosive Light
9 Leviathan's Breath
How to obtain: Purchased from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower.
Leviathan's Breath has gotten so many buffs as of late that it's slowly crept into meta territory. This Heavy Bow releases devastating arrows that explode shortly upon impact, instantly stunning Unstoppable Champions. The DPS of this Bow with its Catalyst can match most Rocket Launchers, and its forced Volatile procs make it decent for clearing small packs of tankier foes. For PvE, this weapon is arguably S-tier in the right hands.

PostsWhile you'll have a hard time getting kills with this Bow in PvP, give it a try in Gambit. The Bow will instantly kill opposing Guardians if you fully nock the arrow, making this the ultimate counter to invaders and a solid weapon for getting Army of One medals. It's also quite ammo efficient as a backup Primeval DPS weapon. But for actual Crucible, you're better off using a Rocket Launcher or Grenade Launcher.
8 Graviton Lance
How to obtain: Exotic Engrams and Xur.
Graviton Lance has a volatile balance history, flipping between major buffs to crippling nerfs every couple of months. In its current state, Graviton Lance is in a great spot, acting as a Pulse Rifle version of Sunshot that deals Void damage.
As far as add-clearing Exotics are concerned, Graviton Lance is the ultimate choice for Void subclasses. This weapon fires in two-round bursts that cause targets to violently explode on death, spawning nova bomblets that can cause a chain reaction of explosions.
Paired with Volatile Rounds, this gun creates a non-stop series of explosions that will kill just about everything. It's great in seasonal content, Expert Lost Sectors, Master raids, and GM Nightfalls. It's even a good PvP weapon if you can consistently land headshots.
7 Doom Of Chelchis
How to obtain: King's Fall raid.
Just about every King's Fall weapon has a fantastic perk pool, yet none of them can match the Doom of Chelchis. This weapon has virtually everything you'd want out of a Primary weapon, ranging from consistency traits to double damage perks.
Do you play endgame PvE content? Create a roll with Adaptive Munitions and Frenzy. Looking for an add-slaying monster? Use Firefly with Dragonfly. Are you a Crucible main? Give Rangefinder and Eye of the Storm a try. There's a roll for every type of player, and the weapon's craftable. Void builds can also get Volatile Rounds on this weapon, providing a level of add clear that no Scout Rifle can match.
Recommended Traits
- Column One: Explosive Payload, Firefly, Vorpal Weapon
- Column Two: Frenzy, Dragonfly, Eye of the Storm (PvP), Unrelenting
6 Elsie's Rifle
How to obtain: Onslaught playlist.
Elsie's Rifle might be the most egregious example of power creep we've seen in recent memory, at least as far as PvP is concerned. This weapon has a near-identical stat package to No Time to Explain, an Exotic weapon. But since Elsie's Rifle is a Legendary, you can get custom traits on this weapon.
The standout here is Zen Moment and Headseeker, giving this weapon so much consistency that it effectively aims for you. So long as you have some sort of recoil compensator as your barrel, you'll land easy headshots in PvP.
As for PvE, Elsie's Rifle isn't quite as impressive but still a solid option. Rewind Rounds and Frenzy are solid workhorse combinations for typical PvE content. It's nothing outstanding on that front, but if you even have a slight interest in PvP, you should absolutely get your hands on this weapon.
Recommended Traits
- Column One: Zen Moment, Keep Away
- Column Two: Headseeker, Frenzy, Kill Clip
5 Harsh Language
How to obtain: World drop.
Fans of Wave-Frame Grenade Launchers finally have a Void variant to add to their collection. Compared to Deafening Whisper, Harsh Language is arguably stronger due to better perk choices and a great origin trait. The real standout here is Destabilizing Rounds, a perk that inflicts Volatile onto nearby enemies when a target dies. This gives Harsh Language discount Volatile Rounds with a short internal cooldown.

Wield the Light and Dark with equal mastery with these devastating Hunter builds.
PostsIf you already use a build with Volatile Rounds, this is the only Wave-Frame GL that can get Repulsor Brace currently, an S-tier perk for endgame PvE content. Proc Volatile Rounds, get a kill, and enjoy having constant Void Overshields. You can pair this with Wellspring to gain a ton of ability energy on rapid kills, making this the ultimate Wave-Frame GL for Void users.
And if you're a Crucible main, don't sleep on Disruption Break. So long as the GL tags someone, their shields will break and proc Disruption Break's 50% debuff, making cleanups trivial.
Recommended Traits
- Column One: Wellspring, Envious Assassin, Stats for All
- Column Two: Destabilizing Rounds, Repulsor Brace, Disruption Break
4 Unforgiven
How to obtain: Duality dungeon.
Players that successfully defeat the nightmares of Calus within the Duality dungeon can earn Unforgiven, a 750 RPM Void SMG with one of the best perk pools this archetype has seen. Demolitionist can roll in the first trait column, restoring grenade energy with every weapon kill. This also allows you to reload the weapon by throwing a grenade, perfect for Void ability builds.
You can then pair Demolitionist with a damage perk to create the ultimate PvE workhorse. Frenzy is ideal since it increases this weapon's slow reload speed. If you don't mind relying on Demolitionist to reload this weapon, Golden Tricorn is a far stronger damage buff that's fairly easy to maintain. Add Volatile Rounds in the mix, and Unforgiven becomes a terrifying PvE SMG.
Recommended Traits
- Column One: Demolitionist
- Column Two: Frenzy, Golden Tricorn
3 Ros Arago IV
How to obtain: World drop.
This simple looking 600 RPM Void Auto Rifle has taken the PvE meta by storm in Season of the Wish. Thanks to the inclusion of Onslaught in its perk pool, Ros Arago can achieve DPS values that rival most Exotics without using your Exotic slot.
Onslaught increases the weapon's RPM with every kill, reaching just shy of 1,000 RPM at three kills. You can pair this with Rewind Roundsto keep the magazine loaded while fighting tough majors or tanky red bars. Repulsor Brace is also an option if you run Volatile Rounds on a Void build, granting you a powerful Void Overshield with every kill.
What we find even stronger is Permeability. This perk changes Ros Arago's element to match your subclass whenever you use your class ability. Solar users can benefit from Ember of Empyrean. Strand users can proc Unraveling Rounds. Arc users can even become Amplified with this gun. Simply put, Ros Arago is an S-tier Primary weapon if you can get a roll with Onslaught.
Recommended Traits
- Column One: Permeability, Rewind Rounds, Repulsor Brace
- Column Two: Onslaught
2 Le Monarque
How to obtain: Purchased from the Exotic Kiosk in the Tower. Costs 1 Exotic Cipher, 125,000 Glimmer, 200 Legendary Shards, and 1 Ascendant Shard.
Few Exotics are as well-equipped for endgame content as Le Monarque. This Exotic Bow fires toxic arrows that release a poisonous mist under the right conditions. If you have good aim and can perfectly time your shots, you can easily create these poison clouds to deal some serious damage.
In PvE, Le Monarque is perfect for countering Overload Champions. It's not bad for fighting majors either. And if you can proc Volatile Rounds on this weapon, it can brute force Match Game activities and decimate Champions on its own. It can even one-shot Guardians in PvP with a strong damage buff. Needless to say, Le Monarque is a Primary powerhouse.
1 Buried Bloodline
How to obtain: Warlord's Ruin dungeon.
Buried Bloodline has become a staple in many PvE builds, and for good reason. This rocket Sidearm fires tracking bolts that siphon HP on hit. If you land enough kills with this weapon, you gain Devour, a Void buff that restores half of your HP and a large chunk of grenade energy on any kill. Kills while Devour is active will extend its timer, allowing you to keep it up for minutes at a time.
With the Catalyst installed, this weapon also inflicts a 15% Weaken debuff while Devour is active, making it a strong debuff tool.
So long as you can get four kills or eliminate a single major, you'll gain access to Devour on any build in the game. On-kill healing like this can fix virtually all survivability issues for a build and help with grenade uptime for even more ability spam. The weapon itself is also fantastic, dealing slightly more damage than a traditional rocket Sidearm with the same ammo efficiency you'd expect from this archetype. Versatility is Buried Bloodline's specialty.
