In Death Must Die, you’re in a crusade against Death itself, an entity gone rogue who’s cutting the lives of mortals short. At the beckoning of Time, you go into Death’s realm and fight his minions in a glorious action-roguelike fashion.

PostsTo help you in your quest, a pantheon of gods and goddesses grants you their blessings, giving you powerful abilities to even the odds against the endless hordes. You might notice that some of these Blessings are better than others, which is important because you can only employ the Blessings of three gods per run. With that in mind, which gods give the best blessings? Here they are, ranked.
9 Lady Justice
Sometimes, Justice Isn't Enough...
Unfortunately for Lady Justice, the old adage doesn’t hold true: the best offense, in this case, is a good offense. This means that Lady Justice, who specializes in healing and defense, isn’t a good option in your quest.
Simply put, her moves are inefficient, either not dealing enough damage, not having a high enough chance to proc, or cooldowns that are just too long. Even one of her Legendary Blessings, Day of Judgement, is edged out by Mort’s Sudden Death. Both kill lots of minions, but the latter is easier to get (available at lower rarities) and procs more often, given a few upgrades.
8 Mort
The Legions Of The Dead At Your Command
Daughter of Death, Mort’s blessings center around the macabre, summoning night creatures and dark hexes to cull her father’s minions. Her signature status effect is Cursed, which marks a percentage of enemies’ health and slowly drains it.
As cool as it all looks on paper, in practice, it’s a little lacking. Cursed is a cool mechanic, but it is often beaten out just by raw damage, which obliterates weak enemies and is more effective against strong ones. She’s a decent pick to support other playstyles, but her Blessings aren’t the best to focus on. Unless you plan to build a Summoning playstyle, in which case, Mort’s your goddess.
She’s the only god with two summon Blessings available at non-Legendary rarities and a Blessing that boosts summon damage.
7 Winter
Enough To Break The Ice
As Winter’s name implies, her specialty is in the cold, namely the status effects Chilled and Frozen. The former inflicts a stacking debuff on enemies that, at seven stacks, inflicts Frozen, which stops victims from moving or acting.

Learn all about the best blessings in Death Must Die!
PostsWinter’s Blessings theoretically work together, but in reality, it takes too long to set up for not enough payoff. However, when working in tandem with the Blessings of other gods, her Blessings are good as support. If nothing else, the Frozen effect can buy you some breathing room where you might otherwise be overwhelmed.
6 Summer
Hit Fast And Bring The Heat
Similar to her sister Winter, Summer’s abilities work best in a support role. However, the Burning status effect is far more satisfying than freezing your opposition since it applies a damage-over-time effect that more visibly boosts your DPS.
Summer has some great support, Blessings, boosting attack speed, Casts, or Powers, but her straight-up offensive boosts mean that she can be your main goddess if you just want to watch the world burn.
5 Moirai
Fate, Always By Your Side
The sisters of Fate: Clo, Lachi, and Aisa. Their blessings are all passive and have a decent spread of effects, with a focus on random chance and tilting the odds in your favor. However, their best Blessings are the ones that give guaranteed effects. Gemini, in particular, is a standout for ranged heroes since it gives them more projectiles.
Overall, the Blessings of the Moirai would be middling at best, but what really improves their standing is something unique to the sisters. Namely, that they always have a chance to show up when you level, even if you’ve already got three gods picked. This would allow you to have four sets of Blessings in a run if you play your cards right.
4 Leigong
Bring The Thunder And Reap The Whirlwind
A mischievous lightning God, Leigong’s Blessings offers a good mix of utility in the form of movement speed and cooldown reduction. He also has some of the best offensive options available in the game, so long as you don’t mind some wild variance in your damage output.
He has the most Strike Blessings in the game at three, whereas the other deities have only one or none. These are also some of the strongest Blessings in the game, especially Tornadoes and Hurricane. The former, in particular, is nice since it’s not a Legendary roll, but it only needs a few upgrades to spiral out of control.
3 Ninh
#1 Stunner
Though Leigong is a strong pick, his Blessings have a tendency to vary in results, which is not a problem with Ninh. Her Blessings are as solid as the earth she represents, dealing great damage throughout a run.

Which hero’s more likely to get the job done?
PostsIn addition to her big numbers, she also stuns enemies, rendering them inactive more reliably than Winter’s Frozen. The effect doesn’t last as long, but it happens more often if you’re lucky. Unlike Frozen, you can apply it multiple times over a short period. Ninh has a strong selection of Cast Blessings and favors both ranged and melee combat styles in equal measure.
2 Krom
Blood For The War God!
Krom is the God of Conquest, and with his blessings, you’ll see that he has earned the title. He gives a potent mix of offense and defense with his knockbacks and a combination of big up-front damage and a damage-over-time effect.
His status effect is Rupture, which damages enemies as they move and hurts them big time if they’re knocked back. Almost all of Krom’s Blessings are powerful and can be slotted into any build, with Bloodlust being the lone exception since it’s tied to Rupture.
However, some of his Blessings truly stand out, like God of War, which is the second most powerful Blessing in the game and the single highest boost to damage available.
1 Time
Makes Warriors Of Us All
As the one who sent you on this crusade against Death, it’s appropriate that Time is also your most powerful supporter. Not only are his Blessings flexible enough that he always has a place in your build, but he also has some truly powerful Blessings to provide, like The Summoner and Alteration Ritual. Even better, they’re not even Legendary rarity, so they’re also pretty accessible.
Alteration Ritual, in particular, is special as it’s, hands down, the most powerful Blessing in the game. With a little work and some luck, you could find yourself packing the strongest Blessings from the whole pantheon.
Time also has arguably the most valuable quality of life Blessing in the game, Force, which increases the range at which you pull experience shards. While this is nice on the melee Heroes, it’s absolutely invaluable for the ranged ones.
