Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the very few comic book R-rated movies that has been more than just a success. It has proven that audiences of superhero movies can be restricted, but still be as popular as long you remain faithful to the characters and the story.

PostsThe movie made new strides and has used the multiverse to finally add Deadpool (or Deadpools) and the old Fox X-Men movies into the MCU, by using the TVA and the ending of the Loki TV series to tie these films into one big multiverse. With old characters and amazing cameos having their time to shine in the spotlight, we’re also introduced to a new character, Cassandra Nova, the main villain of the movie.
Who Is Cassandra Nova In Deadpool & Wolverine?
CloseIn the Deadpool & Wolverine movie, Cassandra Nova is a complex character and is revealed as the incredibly powerful twin sibling of Charles Xavier.
She harbors a bit of resentment towards her brother for never coming to search for her after the TVA sent her to the void.
Even still, it’s a place she calls home and where she has multiple mutants from the old X-Men movies working for her and doing her bidding.
The Void is a paradise. I can wield my power here without shame. Unfortunately, I didn't have Charles Xavier to teach me tenderness.
She has ties with the TVA and Alioth, seemingly working with them to achieve her goals. In return, she promises never to leave the void until the events of the Deadpool and Wolverine movie.

what a bunch of huh-bub.
PostsThe movie is incredibly faithful to her character design and motivations and her origin is reminiscent of her comic book origins as well, where she tried to kill Charles while they were both in the womb. This event triggered the TVA to intervene and send her to the void.
Her powers are also incredibly overpowered. She has both Telekineses, Telepathy, and a healing factor she can trigger with her mind that makes her effectively immortal. She has the best powers of other Omega-level mutants, packaged into one.
We see them on full display when she kills the Human Torch with a flick of her hand and also accesses both Wolverine’s and Deadpool’s memories by putting her hand through their heads.
After a final fight with her at the TVA headquarters in Deadpool’s universe, she is supposedly ashes and has once and for all been destroyed. But it’s possible that there’s more to Cassandra in future movies, since technically she doesn’t need her body to stay alive.
Cassandra Nova Origins In The Comics
CloseMarvel Comics have a darker origin story for Cassandra. She is not a mutant, but a mummudrai, a parasitic being from the astral plane, and the dark twin of Charles Xavier.
Conceived without a physical body, she existed alongside him in the womb as his twin sister. In a fetal battle, Charles unknowingly struck her with a psychic blast after she tried to strangle him and effectively killed her.
But she was only left bodiless and, overtime, she learned to manipulate matter, eventually constructing a physical form for herself by stealing Charles's DNA.
Her goal is to destroy everything that her brother cared about, believing them all to be illusions that are figments of his imagination.
To this end, she even tries to destroy the mutant race and kills many innocents in the process. Cassandra even tried to destroy all the timelines in the Deadpool & Wolverine movie, showing that she believes those same things to some extent in the MCU as well.
