Dead Rising Has Had Its Price Permanently Cut Now There's A Remaster Coming

Summary
- Capcom surprised Dead Rising fans this week by revealing a Deluxe Remaster is coming soon.
- Until then, you can now pick up the original game on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC for $9.99.
- The price drop is a permanent one, but other sites have Dead Rising available for even less for a limited time.
Between leaks, rumors, and big games being announced way too early, surprsing someone with a video game reveal is tough to do in 2024. Capcom managed it on Wednesday though, dropping news that a Dead Rising remaster is in the works, and it appears to be pretty far along. No release date for the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster just yet, but if this news has reawakened your love for the series, the original game is on sale to celebrate the remaster's reveal.
This isn't a case of cashing in now or missing out either. Dead Rising's price, at least when it comes to PlayStation and Xbox, has been cut permanently. Down to just $9.99 on both platforms, you can now go back to the beginning of the series and relive Frank West's zombie survival adventure. If you want to play through the original Dead Rising on PC there's even more good news. It's $10 on Steam too, but a couple of sites have the game listed for even less.

PostsBuy Dead Rising through Humble and you can get it for $5.99. Get it at Fanatical and it's even less - just $5.09. Worth noting that the price cuts at Humble and Fanatical aren't permanent ones. However, all each site does is sell you a Steam code for the game for less. So you're getting the exact same version of Dead Rising that's permanently down to $9.99 on Steam, just for a few dollars less. Oh, it's also Steam Deck verified so you can play it handheld on the go.

Dead Rising
The first entry in Capcom's popular zombie survival series, Dead Rising follows Frank West who is trapped in a mall in an unfamiliar town overrun with zombies. You have everything in the mall at your disposal to help you survive.
$10 on the PlayStation Store $10 on Steam $10 on the Xbox Games Store Expand CollapseThe Dead Rising series began in 2006 and Capcom released four games over the course of a decade. Eight years later, and with Capcom's focus on so many other projects revolving around its more popular properties (no offense, Dead Rising), the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster would not have been on many people's radars. Perhaps if it sells well enough, and if the base game shifts some copies now that it's avaulable on all available platforms for $10 or less, Capcom will remaster more Dead Rising games.
I don't want to jinx it, but Capcom is doing all the right things in a video game landscape where so many other studios are stepping on rakes and running into walls. Its Resident Evil remakes are being labeled better than the originals, hype for 2025's Monster Hunter Wilds continues to rise, and the reveal of Marvel vs. Capcom's Fighting Collection was very well received. Not to mention the Ace Attorney Investigations collection that was revealed during the same presentation as Marvel vs. Capcom.
