Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Makes It Easier To Get Survivors Into The Safehouse

Summary
- Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is mostly sticking to the original game's formula while adding some notable quality-of-life improvements.
- One of the best changes that has been made is the addition of a set of stairs to the security room entrance.
- This should cut down on the amount of time wasted waiting for survivors to figure out they're meant to climb the step to get to safety.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster has made escorting survivors to the safehouse much less frustrating by adding a set of stairs near the entrance to the security room.
Although Dead Rising fans were over the moon when Capcom revealed that it was developing a "deluxe remaster" of the first game that it has since admitted is basically a remake, it's fair to say that there was some trepidation about how it might be changed. The original game is so beloved because of all its little quirks and unique features, so there were fears that a remake might end up switching things up too much.

And from the looks of it, Capcom isn't altering all that much anyway.
PostsAs it turns out, though, fans had no reason to be worried as Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is sticking very closely to the original game's formula while adding some quality-of-life improvements and updating the visuals. Capcom highlighted a few of these changes in the gameplay showcase, but the one that has stood out the most to fans is one that it barely mentioned.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Has Added Stairs To The Safehouse, Thank God
During the showcase, Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster's director, Ryosuke Mirai, went over some of the gameplay mechanics that have been improved since the 2006 release, with a lot of focus being put on how survivor AI has been improved. While talking about how survivors have changed, a brief gameplay clip reveals the remake's best addition - stairs have been added to the safehouse entrance.
If you've played Dead Rising, then you no doubt know the pain of leading a bunch of survivors to the security room vent and then having to wait as they all struggle to climb up the platform and make it to safety. It sounds minor, but it made escorting survivors even more frustrating since every rescue ended with Frank having to wait next to the vent until everyone had clambered up to the entrance.
Now we just need Frank's dodge roll to be performed by pressing the left stick in instead of thrusting it in any direction twice and we'll be golden.
That won't be a problem in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, though, as the introduction of stairs means that survivors should be able to simply walk up to the vent with ease. It's a small change, but one that fans have already pointed out as being one of the remake's best.
