That said, it's not a spooky month without Dead Space. The survival horror franchise stands as one of the best in its class, with three games, plus a remake in 2023 released to date. Clearly, though, that's not enough and its series creator would love to make a new game.

Please Make It Happen, EA

Taking to Twitter, Dead Space creator Glen Schofield issued a statement of his own regarding a future reunion with the franchise.

First, thank you so much for the kind words regarding Dead Space. Looking back, EA gave me the support & opportunity to bring it to life. It would be cool to do a new one -Thanks again!

Schofield's tweet comes in response to the large amount of fan feedback that he received in honor of the first game's 16th anniversary. The original Dead Space debuted on October 13, 2008, and the rest, as they say, is history.

A Dead Space 2 Remake Was A Thing At One Point

Earlier this year, it was claimed that a remake of Dead Space 2 was canceled by EA following disappointing sales numbers for the first remake project. That news came despite EA polling fans if they would like to see further Dead Space remakes.

EA, however, quickly came out to squash those rumors. In a statement to IGN, the company vehemently denied the news, adding that there is "no validity" to the story. Of course, it's impossible to know what is true and what it isn't, but it's likely safe to assume that a Dead Space 2 remake was at least a concept.

To Schofield's credit, he has remained in the gaming space, having helped release The Callisto Protocol in 2022. While that game didn't exactly set the world on fire, it did show that Schofield still has some good ideas in play when it comes to Dead Space-like experiences.
