You can play as the jock-turned-babysitter from Netflix’s Stranger Things. After making his way to Hawkins National Laboratory to assist Nancy Wheeler after she asked for help, he found himself transported to the Entity's realm. Here is a run-down of his unique perks and some build ideas for those wanting to spend some time with Steve.

Steve Harrington’s Unique Perks

Steve’s Unique Perks revolve around him being able to help his teammates in stressful situations, and relying on them to help him in return. Whether you like to play altruistically, or you just like being the one to save the day, Steve brings helpful teamwork-oriented perks to Dead by Daylight.

Babysitter

While you have a reputation for being self-centered, you risk it all to help those in need.

When you unhook a Survivor, the rescued Survivor benefits from the following effects for a few seconds:

  • Suppresses their scratch marks and pools of blood.
  • Increases their Haste.

Additionally, Babysitter reveals the Killer’s aura to you for 8 seconds.

Camaraderie

Life has taught you the importance of friendship, which has given you strength.

If you are hooked and enter the Struggle Phase, Camaraderie activates:

  • Pauses the Struggle Phase timer for a brief period of time as soon as any Survivor comes within 16 meters of your hook.

Second Wind

You have learned to avoid awkward situations with parents. Part of you still thinks your best option is to run away and hope things will take care of themselves.

When you heal another Survivor for the equivalent of one health state, Second Wind activates:

  • The next time you are unhooked or unhook yourself, you suffer from the Broken status effect until this deactivates.
  • You are automatically healed after a short period of time.

This perk does not activate if you already suffer from the Broken status effect, and it deactivates if you are put into the Dying State before being healed.

Best Builds For Steve Harrington

As with all Survivors, you slowly unlock new perks for Steve by progressing through the Bloodweb, prestiging other Survivors, or unlocking them through the weekly Shrine of Secrets.

You can choose any combination of perks that are available to you, and can adapt it to your playstyle. If you want to play an off-meta meme build, have at it!

To unlock the Adept Steve achievement, you must escape a Trial using only Steve’s three Unique Perks.

Here are some generally strong Survivor perks you can always consider adding to your load-out:

  • Déjà Vu: Highlights three Generators on your map, and your repair speed on those Generators is increased.
  • Lithe: An Exhaustion perk that lets you break into a sprint after a fast vault.
  • Made For This: Helps you run faster when you are injured.
  • Urban Evasion: Your crouching movement speed is increased.

Steve has some great perks that can be highly useful throughout the entire course of a Trial. These can also become stronger when paired with additional perks.

Babysitter Perk Synergies

If you like to be the one to unhook Survivors, Babysitter is a must-have. It will provide a much-needed boost for a Survivor to get away safely from the hook. Plus, it reveals the aura of the Killer, which will give you important information you can communicate with your teammates.

Here are a couple perks to run with Babysitter:

Aftercare

  • At Tier III, this perk reveals the auras of the last three Survivors to you after you have unhooked them, they have unhooked you, you have healed them, or they have healed you. Your aura is also revealed to those Survivors.
  • Babysitter helps with the unhook, and Aftercare then rewards you with more information on your teammates' whereabouts.

Deliverance

  • After you perform a safe hook rescue (which Babysitter will make easier), your next self-unhook attempt will always succeed.
  • As long as you don't get yourself hooked before you can utilize this strategy, since this perk will only work in your first hook stage, it's a great way to guarantee you can get yourself off a hook.

Camaraderie Perk Synergies

While Camaraderie is a situational perk, it can still be very useful by keeping you in a match longer. It also works as a counter to any Killer that ends up camping around your hook, because it gives a teammate more time to rescue you.

Here are some perks to consider running with Camaraderie:

Decisive Strike

  • After being unhooked, this perk will activate for a short period of time. If you get put into the Dying State again by the Killer and then picked up, you need to succeed at a skill check to stun them and escape.
  • Since the benefit of Camaraderie is more about countering camping, this is an additional way to give you another chance to escape a Killer focused on you.

Made For This

  • When you are injured, you gain Haste whenever you run, allowing you to move slightly faster. Additionally, you can Endurance briefly after healing another Survivor.
  • An all-around great perk, this can help you get far away from a hook after being rescued. This will also help you outrun a Killer in a chase, or just get around the map faster.

Second Wind Perk Synergies

As long as you've healed a teammate, you'll have a surefire way to get healed yourself after being unhooked. Second Wind helps you be a bit more self-sufficient. It also lets you focus on other tasks after being unhooked, instead of focusing on finding a way to heal.

Here are a couple perks that can be run with Second Wind:

Iron Will

  • Grunts of pain caused by injuries are reduced by 100 percent.
  • This perk can be helped at multiple points during a Trial, but it can help you hide for the time it takes for Second Wind to heal you.

Off The Record

  • After being unhooked, for a long period of time your aura will not be revealed to the Killer, your grunts of pain are suppressed, and you gain an additional Endurance status effect.
  • Off The Record is a great perk that increases your chance of survival, and has benefits that pair well with Second Wind.

Since Second Wind does not function if you are already affected by the Broken status effect, you definitely do not want to run it with a perk such as No Mither.
