For those who already own the game digitally or physically, it's a modest $10 upgrade. There are new modes, as well as some new Trophies to hunt for, along with an auto-pop Platinum if you happen to have already popped it on PS4. That said, while some may call the remaster "pointless," it appears that fans of the series are falling in love with the game all over again.

Let's Ride Again, Boozeman

Over on the r/DaysGone subreddit, fans have been praising the remaster, with one gamer writing that it feels like they're playing an entirely new game.

"The graphics look noticeably different, and it just feels so fresh," the player explained. In the leadup to the release, Sony's Bend Studio affirmed that "you’ll see the difference" in graphics due to the power of the PS5.

Elsewhere, another gamer praised the Horde Assault mode, particularly the special weapons and perks that help freshen up the gameplay experience.

In a separate thread, a gamer said they've put their playthrough of Oblivion Remastered on pause to experience Days Gone again. Another gamer commented on how nighttime looks more "spooky" in the remaster than it was in the original game.

"I’m out of gas. It’s just turned night. It just started thundering and raining. I’m in the middle of nowhere. I need to get back to Boozer and there are screaming Freakers in the distance. The atmosphere in this game is unmatched for me," a user detailed.

It seems like Bend Studio made good on its word in attempting to elevate the base Days Gone experience in the remaster. Maybe the strong response will be enough to greenlight a sequel. Here's hoping.
