This article includes spoilers for the season one finale of Daredevil: Born Again.

Summary

  • Funko saved two of its Daredevil: Born Again Pop reveals until after the season one finale had aired.
  • The newly revealed Pops are modeled after how Punisher and Kingpin appear in the finale.
  • They're available now along with the three figures shown off ahead of season one coming to an end.

The first season of Disney's revived Daredevil series, Daredevil: Born Again came to a bloody and chaotic end this week. Ahead of the season finale, three Funko Pops, two for Matt Murdock and one for Bullseye, were revealed. What Funko managed to keep under wraps is the two other key players from season one of Born Again who would be joining them.

Joining the three Pops that were announced ahead of time are Kingpin and Punisher figures. Having seen the finale and now the new Pops, it makes sense that Funko would want to keep these additional two figures a secret until after the season finale aired. Both of them are modeled after the looks each of the characters is sporting during the final episode of season one.

Kingpin's Pop is decked out in the mayor's all white suit, the outfit he wears during the season finale. However, Funko dubbing the Pop Kingpin and not Wilson Fisk might have even more to do with keeping its reveal a secret than its look. Fisk doesn't like being called Kingpin. So much so that the one time it happens in the Born Again finale, he pops the head of the guy who says it with his bare hands.

If you haven't seen it, brace yourself. It's one of the most brutal on-screen deaths in a TV show you will ever see.

Kingpin And Punisher Join Daredevil: Born Again's Funko Pop Collection

I Can See Why They Weren't Revealed Until After The Finale, Though

The Punisher Pop was likely saved for a post-finale reveal so his showing up one more time wasn't spoiled. While it was always likely Frank Castle would reappear before season one came to an end, the Pop's design uses Punisher's new haircut, so it would have confirmed his return before the episode aired had it been revealed too early.

Both Punisher and Kingpin's Funko Pops are available now on Amazon along with the masked Daredevil and Bullseye figures, and they're all priced at $12.99 each. The unmasked Murdock Pop is also available now, but it's an Entertainment Earth exclusive.

  • Funko Pop! Marvel: Daredevil Born Again - Punisher

Disney revived Daredevil for Born Again, and it brought Punisher back into the fold too. Frank Castle returned to the MCU midway through the season, and then again for its violent finale. His Born Again Funko Pop is modeled after the way he looks in that Finale.

  • Funko Pop! Marvel: Daredevil Born Again - Kingpin

Even though he had previously been shot in the head, a Daredevil revival wouldn't have been complete without Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk. The character went full Kingpin in Born Again season one, hence his corresponding Funko Pop being given the moniker too.

Since this won't be the last we see of Born Again, these likely won't be the last Pops we get tied to the show. Disney and Marvel are hoping to release a new season of Born Again every year with filming for season two already underway. If Funko is taking orders, I'd like to see Daredevil's black suit and a Bullseye Pop with the target on his mask among season two's Pops. Oh, and a Muse figure. Something tells me we've not seen the last of him.
