8 Jessica Jones (2015)
Rotten Tomatoes: 94%
Jessica Jones takes place in the exact same timeline as Netflix’s Daredevil and follows the titular Jessica, who is a private investigator with super strength. The first season is especially intense, and David Tennant’s Kilgrave is one of the most chilling villains in any MCU project.
Jessica’s world is dark and messy, and her personal issues make the story very compelling to watch. The tone of the show is very similar to Daredevil and shows a different side of the same world. While the second and third seasons don’t quite match the heights of the first, the first season remains as good as any season of Daredevil.
7 The Boys (2019)
Rotten Tomatoes: 93%
Prime Video's The Boys is an adaptation of the comics of the same name by Garth Ennis and features a lot of violence alongside its charm. The show satirizes various aspects of the real world, including capitalism and politics, and some aspects of the not-real world, such as superheroes. Specifically, how these so-called heroes would turn out to be if they actually existed.
The story follows a group of vigilantes trying to take down corrupt superheroes who abuse their power. The writing is sharp, and the characters are layered. The show has had four great seasons so far, with a fifth and final season out in 2026.
6 Peacemaker (2022)
Rotten Tomatoes: 93%
Peacemaker is a spin-off from 2021's Suicide Squad, focusing on the titular Peacemaker character, played by John Cena. This was James Gunn's first foray into the TV side of things, and it was a pretty great season of television, showing a deeper side of Peacemaker and all of his insecurities and trauma.

PostsThe story picks up after the events of the movie, showing Peacemaker recovering from his injuries and being pulled into a new mission with a team working for Amanda Waller. There’s a lot of ridiculous comedy with genuine emotional depth, and it’s got James Gunn’s signature style all over it. The second season of the show is due late 2025.
5 The Penguin (2024)
Rotten Tomatoes: 94%
The Penguin is another spin-off from yet another critically acclaimed DC movie, this time being an offshoot from 2022's Batman. Like Daredevil, it has a similar gritty feel, thanks in large part to its setting of Gotham and its inhabitants.
The story follows the Penguin as he tries to rise through the ranks of Gotham's criminal underworld after the events of the movie. It’s a very atmospheric show and leans heavily into the crime drama side of Gotham. The dark tone and street-level storytelling make it feel very grounded, just like Daredevil.
4 Better Call Saul (2015)
Rotten Tomatoes: 98%
If the courtroom drama is one of your favorite parts of Daredevil, then Better Call Saul is easy to recommend. It's just as good as, if not better than, Breaking Bad. Being a prequel, it has plenty of returning characters from Breaking Bad that are greatly expanded on in this one, and it creates a solid in-universe cohesion and overlap between the two shows.
It has some excellent character study and development, with plenty of award-worthy performances from various members of its cast. All the things Saul does as an unconventional lawyer are a great contrast to Matt Murdock’s law-abiding lawyer antics.
3 Andor (2022)
Rotten Tomatoes: 96%
Andor is easily the best Star Wars TV show, and one of the best projects that takes place in George Lucas' sci-fi world. Being another TV spinoff of a movie, this one takes place several years before 2016’s Rogue One.

Andor is an amazing show that stands on its own. However, there are still easter eggs referencing the wider Star Wars universe.
PostsIt’s more of a political thriller, focusing on a lot of espionage. The writing is leagues above most Star Wars projects, being very mature and grounded in reality, something that isn’t common with Star Wars. It has very little to do with the supernatural elements of this world; it instead focuses on the characters that are often overlooked.
2 Watchmen (2009)
Rotten Tomatoes: 65%
Zack Snyder's Watchmen movie is very gloomy and vicious, being a direct adaptation of what is widely considered as one of the greatest comic books ever, Alan Moore's Watchmen. The story is set in an alternate history where superheroes are treated as outlaws, much like Daredevil for most of his show.
The movie is complex and very visually striking, staying true to the tone and themes of the original comic. All the moral ambiguity of its characters and the brutal violence do give it a tone similar to Daredevil.
1 The Batman (2022)
Rotten Tomatoes: 85%
2022’s Batman is a pretty obvious recommendation if you liked Daredevil, but it's worthy, nonetheless. This adaptation of the character leans far more into the detective-noir side of things than the other live-action versions.
It also has some great hand-to-hand fight scenes, all of which are very well-choreographed and edited. Just like Daredevil’s Hell’s Kitchen, Gotham city here is a character of itself and perfectly sets the mood for a brooding Batman. Politics, corruption, and moral dilemmas all play a big role in its story.
